Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!I just thought I would take this chance to remind anyone who hasn’t already joined to come along and take part in our Fantasy Football League.
As things stand there are 183 teams signed up and ready to battle it out during the course of the season. Have you got what it takes to beat your fellow ‘bloggers? After all, we can all talk a good game so why not try and back that up?
Prizes will be up for grabs although they will be kept secret for the time being, but I would adjust your expectations if you’re looking to win a house, Ferrari, speedboat or anything like that!
The competition will be linked in with our Facebook group and Twitter page giving you more ways to keep on top of goings on, although obviously you’ll need to like us or follow us or whatever it is. You can also keep up to speed with the competition here at NUFCBlog.org. To get involved you’ll need to follow these simple instructions. (more…)
More backing for Andy Carroll. This is a very important season for Andy Carroll. He proved last season he is a good Championship striker, but now he gets the chance to prove himself at the next level in the Premier League.
The lanky Avatar look-a-like plundered nineteen goals last season and showed some rapid improvement in his all round game towards the end of the season, and if he gets the service this season then there is no reason why he can’t continue his scoring form and all round improvement.
Current England striker Peter Crouch has been talking about Carroll and has offered the rough diamond some advice for the forthcoming campaign. In fact Crouch believes that Carroll has enough about him to make it all the way to the top, to the point where he represents England on a regular basis. (more…)
One Bobby Robson...It was exactly twelve months ago today that the world unfortunately lost a special man. I’m not just talking about the football world, I mean the broader world aswell.
Sir Bobby Robson touched the hearts of many people the world over, even those who never had the good fortune to meet him.
His enthusiasm and zest for life was contagious and he brought out the best in people. That is continuing even though he is not here in body to see it. His legacy is most definately living on.
The sheer outpouring of grief after the news that Sir Bobby had passed on broke has provided me with images that I will never forget. In the midst of the utter turmoil his beloved club was going through last summer, Robson managed to get us all pulling together again. He made us Newcastle, United once more. (more…)
HHHHHOOOOOOONNNNNNKKKKKKKK!Newcastle have become the latest club to ban the Vuvuzela from inside their ground, thank god!

That idea was soon cut down to size when a whole host of clubs banned the Vuvuzela from their ground, with Newcastle becoming the latest one to do such a thing.
I understand these plastic horns are part of South African culture, but that doesn’t stop them being irritating. I personally hated them during the World Cup and feel it ruined my enjoyment of the neutral games. (more…)
Blah blah bloody blah! The press have a nasty habit of conjuring up fairy stories with very little substance, and they particularly seem to enjoy trying to make Newcastle look silly with them.
For years and years now we have been the subject of unfair, unjustified and down right ridiculous stories in the press. Some of them have been true, but the vast majority have either been false or have been hyped up to the point where they are bordering on becoming false.
So I had to have a giggle this morning when I looked at the early morning edition of The Daily Star. Now I know it is a newspaper that doesn’t generally bother about accurate or realistic reporting, in fact if they ran a story saying that the sky is blue I would have to look outside to double check, but this latest piece of troublemaking is tenuous to say the least, and that is being kind!
