How are you getting on in the fantasy football?

It's fantasy football time!
It's fantasy football time!
If I could use one word to describe the last week or so since the real football stopped and international football took over , it would probably be – boring.

Never fear though, the real football is back this weekend, and that also signals the return of our fantasy football competition.

It’s fair to say that I am not doing too well so far, and I am currently languishing in around 300th place.

No matter, much like I do with my lovers, I start off slowly and build up to a frenetic finish! Smuttiness over, I have to make a decision. Jermaine Defoe is now out for 6 weeks, which leaves me with just Hugo Rodallega and Carlos Tevez to score the goals for me in his absence. Not good, and I may have to change things around a bit, but such is life in the world of football management eh? (more…)

How did YOU get on in the Fantasy Football competition today?

It's fantasy football time!
It's fantasy football time!
Well that is just about it for the opening day of the Premier League season.

West Brom are playing at Chelsea as we speak, but once the final whistle goes at Stamford Bridge then people can start to fully reflect on the results of the day.

The opening day of the Premier League season has also signalled the start of our Fantasy Football League competition aswell, which goves us something else to get involved with.

There are already some points up for players who have already played so you can get a feel of just how you have done. Personally I have earned 22 points today, with more to come over the next couple of days hopefully. (more…)

Get involved with the Facebook community.

Community is the word.
Community is the word.
It’s been some time since I have written an article dedicated to this, so it’s about time another one was rolled out in line with our plans for world domination.

Basically, it’s an invitation to get involved with the community, or with the ‘blog itself if you wish, but I’ll go into that a bit later on.

Basically, the aim is to promote and build a community where Newcastle United fans from across the globe can meet, interact, discuss, disagree or anything else they wish to do, all under the comfortable umbrella of, on our Facebook page, or on our Twitter page. (more…)

Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
I just thought I would take this chance to remind anyone who hasn’t already joined to come along and take part in our Fantasy Football League.

As things stand there are 183 teams signed up and ready to battle it out during the course of the season. Have you got what it takes to beat your fellow ‘bloggers? After all, we can all talk a good game so why not try and back that up?

Prizes will be up for grabs although they will be kept secret for the time being, but I would adjust your expectations if you’re looking to win a house, Ferrari, speedboat or anything like that!

The competition will be linked in with our Facebook group and Twitter page giving you more ways to keep on top of goings on, although obviously you’ll need to like us or follow us or whatever it is. You can also keep up to speed with the competition here at To get involved you’ll need to follow these simple instructions. (more…)

As time goes by…

Time is running out.
Time is running out.
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock, goes the sound of transfer window clock.

Yet whilst the time ticks on, Newcastle don’t, well not in the transfer market anyway. Sure we have signed James Perch and Dan Gosling, but the latter would not have been a pre-planned exercise as nobody thought he would be available, especially on a free transfer.

So just what is the hold up? I was under the impression that with us sealing promotion early-doors that we would be able to steal a march on our rivals in the transfer market.

It seems not, and with only 35 (guesswork) days of the window remaining perhaps now is the time when Newcastle should actually begin to try and make some proper tracks with the recruitment drive. We are desperately short of numbers in some key areas, and they will need addressing if we are to be fully prepared for long and arduous season ahead. (more…)
