Nolan: Learning from the mistakes of the past.
Nolan: Learning from the mistakes of the past.
Newcastle United midfield maestro, Kevin Nolan, who has been instrumental in the club’s successful season, has been answering the critics who said that the club wouldn’t make it back to the Premier League at the first attempt. He also sounded very optimistic about Newcastle United’s future prospects, suggesting that promotion and the winning of the Championship could be just the “beginning of something which is going to be brilliant for Newcastle United”.

On the doom mongers he said:

“Everyone is now saying it is easy and we should have done it, but at the beginning of the season, we weren’t favourites to win this league, we weren’t favourites to even go up automatically, so it just shows what we have done.”

“There are a lot of ex-players who wrote us off, a lot of pundits who wrote us off, and we wanted to prove all that wrong, and a lot of papers who did hammer us when we went down, and rightly so.”

Moving on from what was said in the past, Nolan then switched his attention to the undoubtedly difficult task which lies ahead in the Premiership. Nolan mused:

“But we have found something now which hopefully can be the beginning of something which is going to be brilliant for Newcastle United, and that’s a squad of players who want to play for Newcastle United and love this club as much as we do and want to be back up there as much as the fans do.

“We want to be back where we belong. We are back there – it’s going to be tough, it’s going to be relentless again, but we are going to give it our best shot and hopefully make sure we stay a Premier League club now for years to come.

“This club doesn’t belong in this division, the fan-base, the stadium we have got.”

Finally, he concluded on the mistakes of the past, and learning from them:

“A lot of mistakes have been made over the years and we have spoken about them, but now this is about learning from the mistakes and slowly building this fantastic club up into a great club.”

Lets hope so.

  2. BATTY – BIG DAVE – GEODIE DEB – PLEASE ENSURE THE COWARD WORKYTICKET ANSWERS THIS WHEN HE BANS ME AGAIN – He Stops me from posting replies

WORKYTICKET: Would you like to explain why you banned Stardust?

And thereon debate it here and now in front of everyone with STARDUST. You dont have a reason Worky do you – apart from the fact YOU insulted some of your loyal bloggers and Stardust was laughing about your blunder with one of the people YOU insulted. YOU then went on to use profanities at Stardust who was having harmless fun.

You then tried to turn it on Big Dave and Geordie Deb.

But why ban Stardust Workyticket. He helped set up this blog. You claimed to have thought long and hard about it – thats a lie – he has never given you one reason to ban him.

You are a Coward Workyticket – just as you will ban this account for having the afront to question you – we will not stop until you admit you are wrong.

For other readers this is a transcript of an email sent by Stardust direct to Workyticket (Paul directly)

    “Paul

Now as I can see this is serious and not a wind up.

You didn’t ban me lightly? – LOL – I really needn’t expand on that as you know yourself your statement is so obtuse its bizarre.

You are a coward – rather than debate this issue openly with me on the blog – you have banned me so I can not retort. The reality is you were annoyed by Dave and Deb and I was simply enjoying a bit of banter with Dave – you need to lighten up fella – you’re heading for a heart attack.

I can see that you have the IP and Proxy covered but given time I will make those few I am bothered about aware of what’s went on.

Interesting to see people forget who helped them in the past.

Shame on you fella – shame on you.”

To date Workyticket has not replied.

Is he a decent genuine sort – or the very worst kind of person – time and actions alone will decide that.

  3. BBM – can you enlighten us as to Workys decision – when Worky as normal will refuse to answer – cheers fella

  4. EQUALIZER,you have anwsered your own question ie its worky decision, lets leave it m8 enjoy the good times while it lasts

  5. Icedog, that’s appreciated, of course its his right, but surely a reason must accompany that decision – especially when Stardust helped set up the blog in the first place?

Normally warnings are given but when there was no wrong in the first place, a warning must have been too tough to give.

All we ask for is that Worky explains it, and doesn’t try and deflect from the fact that he doesn’t want to admit it is he who is in the wrong.

Ask Big Dave – what his thoughts are.

  6. TOONSY spot on great report imo, like the £100,000 part, wba got dorrins for that fee sure there must be a few gems out there still, just hope toon can find one or two

  7. The Equalizer I would like to apoligize to you, as it was me that that you were having the banter with, so I feel in some ways responsible for you being banned. I just hope that some where and time we can chat again mate until then all the best and take care.
    Big Dave.

  8. icedog – People forget that Dorrans was in the Premier League last year an nobody battered an eyelid to him. Could it be different this year? Maybe. But then by that logic so could the players we had last year that are still here.

  9. BIG DAVE,i you got the forcast right (again365) before you remind me,best nearly scored nice left foot shot with no back-lift,nice pass by guthrie to JB to make easy pass for rout to score ;),not letting you win everything kidda

  10. Cheers Dave but no apology needed – its madness!

  11. TOONSY a great point m8,got my grey matter going, your like good wine getting better with age lol ;)

  12. Jill – Haven’t heard anything about it to be honest. Strange one but I wont begrudge him a rest. He has been brill for us this season so deserves a rest before the World Cup.

    Icedog – Big Dave365.

  13. Ice I hope ye had a few quid on my prediction mate, and I hope you and Toonsy start seeing the good side of JB more often ;)

  14. BIG DAVE,i think toonsy is giving him a fair crack of the whip, where as i want to take the whip to him, get my drift plus let you win 100% no way lol :)

  15. If anyone wants to know WORKYticket also lacks integrity – he has tried to change the way things happened the Plymouth thread.

Comment 161 on the Plymouth thread was made by me BUT Worky had already banned me by this point and it did not show.

Worky has now put in that point to make it look like he banned me in reaction to my statement.

Again Worky – that is a LIE – IT IS DISHONEST. DO NOT TRY AND BEND THE TRUTH – IT WILL PREVAIL AND I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL YOU REPRESENT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED:

IE – YOU WERE HAVING A BAD DAY! AND HAVE TAKEN IT OUT ON ME – AND ARE NOW LAYING FALSE TRAILS AND LIES TO COVER YOUR FOOTSTEPS.

I have to reply in one thread as he bans me after it!

  16. I bet we don’t see Jonas or Colo again this season. Makes sense to let them rest for the World Cup after all they’ve done for the Toon this season.

    I wish them luck.

  17. Ice :) yer a good-un mate and I enjoy yer banter and would like to catch up with you, Toonsy and a couple of others at a match next season. I was going to make up an buckshee email address and when im talking to you’s I will give you’s it so that you’s can email me and keep in touch if you’s like. ;)

  18. Toonsy

  26. Vuckic has to be within a shout of the first time sooner rather than later, hes been out for months, comes back and on friday changed the game and tonight scores too, a cracking goal with a turn of pace and a neat finish then a pochers, right place at right time goal from a yard and hes only 17 :)

  27. Hughton has shyed away from playing youngsters D4toon, he’s hardly going to blood them in the PL I wouldn’t have thought.

What are the chances of us getting Mourinho has boss? He just seems to be a genius!

  28. TGS – You need to take the space out of the smiley. So where you have put a space between ; and ), take the space out and it will work.

The only place you need to leave a space is befor and after the ; and ), not inbetween.

why is he amazing ? coz he scored a couple of goals in the reserves – you half wit. get a f@cking grip.

  31. Aye,
another average to poor performance by the great barca tonight.
See asim, it doesn’t always go to plan, even for the barca’s of this world.
    ;)

Thanx Jose for proving a point, ‘ave a word with asim marra.
    Ta.
    :)

    Was messi playing? ppffffttt! :)

  32. I have said it before, and i will say it again. MESSI ONLY PLAYS AS WELL AS YOU LET HIM PLAY. Look at the games where he has shone, Arsenal (Without Song, their only DM), Real Madrid (With the mediocre Gago starting instead of both Diarra’s), and Valencia (A side that haven’t been able to defend since Rafa left) to name just a few. There are more examples, most of which are when Barca are playing poor Spanish opposition. Rubin Kazan demonstrated perfectly how to nullify Messi, thus nullifying Barca. Smart, organised defending with a player told to cover every blade of grass Messi is covering. As great as Messi is, he is not on the level of the unplayable Ronaldinho’s, Ronaldo’s (THE REAL ONE), or Zidane’s in their primes. He, like Cristiano, is just a very good player with the POTENTIAL to become a great.
