July 10th, 2012 | 7 Comments |

Cisse and Ben Arfa signed photos.
Up for grabs this week!
Welcome to the second and final part of our latest competition to win a 16″ x 12″ signed photo of Papiss Cisse, and a 12″ x 8″ signed photo of Hatem Ben Arfa. Both are genuine, hand signed photos signed by the players themselves and would look great on any Toon fan’s wall!

Before we get to the second set of questions, the first part is here, but I will also repeat the first questions below, as well as rules of the competition.

Please note! Someone entered the answers for the first three questions on Papiss Cisse in the comments section of the last post (though one was actually incorrect, I won’t say which one!) so I’ve added another. Before I get to the second part (on Hatem Ben Arfa) here are the first four questions again. (more…)

Cisse and Ben Arfa signed photos.
Up for grabs this week!
Welcome to the latest in our series of NUFC Blog close season competitions.

This time the first prize is a signed 16″ x 12″ glossy photo of Papiss Cisse, hand signed with a marker pen by the hitman himself! The second prize is a 12″ x 8″ photo of Hatem Ben Arfa after he scored his wondergoal against Bolton, once again, hand signed by the Gallic wing wizard.

Instructions and the first set of questions

As with our other competitions, this is only open to registered users of the site for security reasons (we wouldn’t want anyone else nicking your prize!), but if you aren’t yet a registered member, never fear, it only takes seconds to join! Just click on the “Register” link in the login section of the site (right hand side) and follow the instructions from there.

Then, all you have to do is answer the questions below and the ones in the next competition post (tomorrow) and when you’ve done this, simply post the answers to us along with your username on the site using our contact page.

So, without further ado, here are the first round of questions! (more…)

NUFC Blog Prediction Competition
Picture not indicative of prizes
Live life in the fast lane with the NUFC Blog prediction competition, the second of which starts this weekend. There are cash prizes to be won, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the ensuing fame leads to a book deal and your own reality TV show!

The second NUFC Blog prediction competition kicks off this weekend and once again £175 is up for grabs: £100 for 1st place, £50 for second and £25 for third.

Entry is easy. All you have to be is a registered member of this blog and then you can head on over to the competition pages and make your predictions.

The last competition – which finished at the end of last year – was won jointly by El Toro and GeordieMagpie who shared the £150 for first and second places with GrandPoobah coming a respectable third.

I should mention our own Clint Flick too as he was actually joint 1st but is forbidden from claiming prize as he’s a writer on the blog, but he certainly deserves a share of the kudos. (more…)

Newcastle United v Fulham match banter and prediction competition update!

Newcastle United v Fulham, 2011/2012
Jolly exciting!
Good afternoon Geordies. We’re up against Martin Jol’s Fulham at St James’ Park today as we attempt to continue our unbeaten start to the season.

Fulham have a good record against us and lead by 26 to 24 in the winning stakes and they apparently conceded fewer goals to set pieces than any other Premier League team last season, which is a shame as that’s been the best part of our game recently.

European football will no doubt have taken its toll on their players though and they’re without John Arne Riise as result of their midweek game against Dnipro.

For a full analysis, see Jimbob’s excellent match preview, but I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that although our Prediction Competition is well under way, although there is still time to catch up if you haven’t entered yet.

As it stands – with yesterday’s results in – ‘sveinstrand’ and ‘El Toro’ are joint top of the table with 23 points each. (more…)

How did YOU get on in the Fantasy Football competition today?

It's fantasy football time!
It's fantasy football time!
Well that is just about it for the opening day of the Premier League season.

West Brom are playing at Chelsea as we speak, but once the final whistle goes at Stamford Bridge then people can start to fully reflect on the results of the day.

The opening day of the Premier League season has also signalled the start of our Fantasy Football League competition aswell, which goves us something else to get involved with.

There are already some points up for players who have already played so you can get a feel of just how you have done. Personally I have earned 22 points today, with more to come over the next couple of days hopefully. (more…)
