Newcastle United 2012/13 home and change shirts. The pictures above and below are what should be the new home and third kits for the 2012/13 season.
Of course, the Burgundyish away shirt is already out. But getting back to these two, it won’t really be great news for some, as these are the same as the ones we posted way back in January. The only difference being the change of shirt sponsor from “Northern Rock” in January to “Virgin Money” as it is now, though there is no sponsor displayed on these photos.

On it's way to three lucky winners soon!Hoolie wins the NUFC Blog prediction competition! We have another, smaller competition coming up during the summer break.
It’s all about those three-pointers!
The second NUFC Blog prediction competition ended with the Premier League’s last game on Sunday.
First place – and £100 – this time goes to Hoolie who was 4 points clear at the top.
Second place – and £50 – goes to GrandPoobah, who was also in the prizes in our last competition.
Third place – and £25 – goes to kav2011, who improved upon his 12th place finish last time.
Newcastle United change kit, 2012-13.Well it’s that time of the year again, with NUFC Direct announcing the latest change kits for next season.
Above is the shirt for the outfield players, with the goalie’s shirt below. This is the story we posted about what the new shirts might look like back in January. The change shirt and the goalie’s shirt you can see towards the bottom of that piece have the same designs, but as you can see, are now in different colours. Of course, there have also been some changes on the shirt sponsorship front since those days, with Virgin on the ridiculous replacing Northern Crock.
But what do you think of the new shirts so far? Answers on a postcard, or alternatively, use the comments section below.(more…)
2012-13 home and away shirts - see the others below.Pictures of the forthcoming 2012-13 season shirts have were released into the wild late yesterday evening and here they are!
Of course, you will notice that the shirts still bear the sponsor’s name of “Northern Rock” rather than the new “Virgin Money” as these shirts were mock ups made before the latest sponsirship deal was confirmed. Please see below for larger images of the full range, or all the pictures we received anyway. First of course is the home shirt, which looks like the usual Puma quality (I know), but in it’s favour, it does look like the first proper Newcastle United home “Magpie” shirt for quite some time, with the black and white stripes covering the whole shirt. Writing personally, this a welcome change from this season’s, which made the players (and most of we fans) look like we’d been the victim of a hit and run by a vehicle with white tyres. (more…)
Last to wear the number 931 players have been allocated squad numbers for Newcastle United’s 2011/2012 season.
As we haven’t posted it here yet, I thought I’d list the squad numbers for the 2011/2012 season.
31 players have so far been allocated a number but there are three gaps for numbers 3, 9 and 12 (and obviously an infinite number of gaps from 35 upwards!).
The word is that the number 9 shirt will remain free until someone earns it, or at least that was the way Chris Hughton ran things when he was manager and there is nothing to suggest that has changed. Presumably number 3 will be taken by our new left-back (Erik Pieters perhaps) and I have no idea why number 12 – worn by Danny Simpson last year – has been left free, although it could be speculated that that’s the number our fabled ‘new striker’ might take.
