Community is the word.
Community is the word.
Due to lack of general Newcastle news so far today, I can think of no better time the present to make you all aware of the developments that have been going on behind the scenes.

That is not to say that the developments that are ongoing aren’t of importance, of course they are, but here at NUFCBlog.org it’s more a case of Newcastle United, first and foremost.

As well as bringing you the latest on all things Newcastle and giving you all a platform for debate, some of which can be quite tasty at times, both myself and Workyticket have been busy with other stuff for this place. You’ll be able to see some of it with your own eyes, whilst some of it may not be so obvious at first glance. Let’s just say that ‘community’ is the keyword. (more…)

Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
A little thought popped into my head a few days back, and it has stayed there since, bubbling away.

How about a Fantasy Football League where fellow ‘bloggers can pick their team and compete throughout the season before ultimately seeing who is the best?

That was my thought. A bit of friendly competitivess, something else to keep people involved. We can all talk a good game after all, so why not see if they are just empty words or whether or not they have some substance behind them?

So I have been searching the web looking for a solution to this thought, and I think I have finally found one. I have decided to use the software on the official Premier League site as it requires less work, and fewer personal details, to setup and administer. Not only that but it is all free aswell. I will put some step-by-step instructions below, but for now, welcome to the nufcblog.org Fantasy Football League! (more…)

Can he kick it? Errm...
Can he kick it? Errm...
Nile Ranger has returned to pre-season with a bang, scoring two goals in two games, but does he have what it takes to step up to life in the Premier League?

It seems like a lot of our squad have a point to prove this season.

Whether that point is proving that they are good enough to not get relegated again or to prove that they can actually play at the highest level, they all have something to prove to the fans, and most importantly, to themselves.

One of the players who is looking to establish himself is Nile Ranger, who has been chirping on today about how he relishing the opportunity of testing himself at the highest domestic level and how he is here because he wants to play, not because he wants to make up the numbers. (more…)

Introducing the new number 9: Andy Carroll

Andy Carroll - The new number nine.
Andy Carroll - The new number nine.
It is a move that has been expected by a lot of people, but to day it has finally been confirmed that Andy Carroll will wear the famous number 9 shirt for Newcastle.

Carroll will be following in the footspteps of legends like Alan Shearer and Jackie Milburn from this season as he looks to carry on the tradition of the famour jersey.

This could be the making of Andy Carroll, but let’s be fair it could also burden him with pressure. I honestly believe it will be the former as Carroll has already proved he can handle the pressure on the pitch. Think back to Doncaster, and all the pressure that was surrounding that game after the Taylor/Carroll incident, all the media scrutiny, and what did Carroll do? Put the ball in the net to score the winning goal, and that spoke volumes of the lads charcter. (more…)
