Newcastle United v Sunderland.
Mackems In trouble (as usual).
Venue: Stadium of Blight, Blunderland.
Date: Sun 27th Oct, 2013.
Kick off: 1.30pm.
Referee: Lee Probert.
UK TV: Sky Sports.

Hello, good afternoon and welcome to our ‘match banter’ for this day of days, the Wear-Tyne derby, this time at the Stadium of Blight.

As I pointed out in my extensive match preview for this game, the fiasco which transpired at St James Park last season was just an aberration, an exception that proves the rule as that was the only Tyne – Wear derby Sunderland have won out of the last eleven.

As if that wasn’t enough, Sunderland haven’t won a single Premier League game in their last twelve. Their last league victory was a narrow 1-0 win over Everton way back in April, which was the game after that abovementioned defeat for Newcastle in the last Derby. Since then they have been nosediving headlong into catastrophe even more than they usually do. This should be a lesson to them not to have the temerity to beat us in any more local derbies!

But anyway, I’ve had to fix a major catastrophe of my own with caching problem for this site earlier this morning which has put me off schedule. So, I will crack on and stop waffling, except to give you my usual reminders that I will be posting all the usual stuff, ie links to watch the game online, as well as the official team sheets for the game when they become available. Finally, I will also be posting the usual match highlights and full match video after the game is over.

Howay (but not Ha’way) the Lads!

  2. Its 2.20 am in the morning here in NZ , whats local time there , and so how long till ko ??

  3. i’m not saying this too early but do a bunch of french players know what a derby game is like ??

  4. I notice there are plastic bags and fast food containers blowing around all over the pitch again. Typical Sunderland. The Smoggies are the same at the Riverside.

  5. I can see Pardwhos cunning masterplan of bringing on the Mackemslayer at HT as there’s no one to target atm :-(

  6. the horse punch i can understand a 23yr old from byker but a 45 yr old from morpeth what the heck ….

“I can see Pardwhos cunning masterplan of bringing on the Mackemslayer at HT as there’s no one to target atm”

That will probably be 60-70 minutes, Andy.

  8. Too many of our lot coasting, Ben arfa looks terrible, and what’s happened to sissiko, he looked great when he first signed, tiote should be sold he’s absolute suite

  9. Tiote has been alright actually, but Sissoko and Benny have theyre heads some where else. Anita and Cisse would be more up for it.

  10. Last time we lost two of these in a row was in 1966-7.

They beat us 0-3 at SJP then 3-0 at Joker Park. I hope this isn’t history repeating itself.

  11. I just knew for a fact a Pardew team would come out unmotivated, As per usual!
We’ve had a lot of the ball, But done precious little with it.
Poyet has Sunderland up for the fight, And as soon as you saw his team sheet, You knew what they were going to be about.
If we continue with what we are doing, We will come away empty handed!

  12. Tiote just annoys me when he tries to hold onto the ball too much, he always turns into trouble, opposing players know what he is going to do, he never played the easy ball when it’s on either

    Here comes Shola time!

60 odd minutes just as I wrote, Andy. :-)

  14. Half the mackems on the pitch look knackere. Time to up the tempo Pardwho you clueless bumpy :-(

“No you wrote 60-70 minutes so no cigar”

It’s usually bang on 70 minutes, but it has been 60 once or twice. It was bang on 70 minutes this time as I suspected. I shouldn’t have hedged ny bets there.

  16. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is trouble after this. If i was there i know i would be wanting to fookin explode

  17. Every season Sunderland players always show more fighter and determination against us. It’s getting sad now when all we do is coast and play slow.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if there is trouble after this.”

Aye Dokky, the horses’ll be worried.

  19. Andymac, Was it f**k!, But you expect nothing else from a Pardew team.
He’s been here for over three years, And still hasn’t got a clue about what the derby means.
I said it before, And i’ll say it again, This club will never win a derby game with Pardew in charge!

  20. Pardew will probably pull a mike bassett and applaud the goal and how great it was! and how we was “unlucky” i have had it with this gobshite id take anyone over him even holloway

  21. Caught the last 20 of the first half in the battle, saw this coming. How can you fail to motivate a team for a Derby? Just shocking! Pfffff

  22. Yet again Pardew’s substitutes had no bearing what so ever!
Poyet made his, And the result was a match winner within 5 minutes.
Pardew has been out thought, Out fought, By a manager in only his second game in charge.
Poyet has no previous experience of the area, And what it means to the fans, But he is able to put a side out, Who want to win!
What does this say about this joker Pardew, He’s as much use as a gay bloke with piles!

  23. Andy, three points were crucial from this one, not just for the usual reasons but because it’s Spurs and Chelsea next. That’s after what will probably be a League Cup hiding from Man City to boost morale.

  24. Pardew is priceless!, He’s trying to blame the officials for the defeat.
He reckons they should have gave us a throw in, And Sunderland went on to score as a result.
I listened to his interview just before kick off, And he said, “There are no excuses today, If we bring our game, We will win”.
As soon as he loses the match, He comes up with his usual blame shifting!

If anything good came out of today’s shambles, Is there is further evidence to show Pardew is not good enough to be Newcastle manager, And the quicker he gets the boot, The better iy will be for all concerned.

  25. According to some of the posters on Simon’s blog, The Chronicle have now been banned from St James’ Park, Because of the coverage they gave to the protest march!
Apparently Pardew would not take any questions from Lee Ryder, And others.

It just goes to show you what these scumbags who run our club are like.
They are a bunch of petulant, childish a**eholes who are trying to stop freedom of speech, And the truth, Getting in the way of their truly shambolic attempts at running a professional football club!

Joe, how many times has that been said now? And by how many?

The rumour at the beginning of the season was ten games for Pardew, and that’s nine in the Premier League now, with Chelsea next after Man City in the League Cup. If we lose to Man City, then lose to Chelsea and he’s still here, what then?

Joe, if that was true, it might actually be good for the Chronic, it would actually give them a semblance of credibilty. What do they get from having access to the players except for a load of bland “the spirit has never been better in the dressing room blah blah…” as they live in a Stalinist republic too, where they could be called in for interrogation by the NUFC Checka for any deviation from the script.

  28. Worky, The s**t is getting old, But surely Ashley has to see the bigger picture, When his manager is full of excuses, And no action behind it.
Let’s hope that the ten game rumour is a correct one, And we get rid of that p*** poor excuse of a manager!

  29. Worky, Even the Sunderland Board are saying he is refusing to answer questions, To the local media, So there must be something in it.
Even they are calling him an a**ecrawler, And have a Pardew excuses card, Which i had to have a chuckle at.

  30. Joe, it IS true! OMFG as they say.

“Lee Ryder of the Evening Chronicle has revealed that Newcastle United have chosen to ban the paper from St. James Park, along with sister titles the Sunday Sun and the Journal News.

“The papers were informed of the ban ahead of Newcastle’s loss to Sunderland but the papers waited until after the match to reveal the ban as to avoid disrupting the club’s buildup to the Tyne-Wear derby.

“The club cited harsh coverage of a protest march last weekend by fans to show their displeasure for owner Mike Ashley and the club’s front office.

“Ryder described the scene following the derby on Twitter, saying manager Alan Pardew was gagged by his press officer in the postmatch press conference. Members of both the Evening Chronicle and Journal News attempted to ask questions but were cut short by press official Wendy Taylor, who proclaimed “you can’t ask any questions.”

“According to the Chronicle, Pardew agreed to the ban of the paper along with Mike Ashley, Joe Kinnear, Lee Charnley, and John Irving.”

  31. Funnily enough worky, I hadn’t seen it before, But it just goes to show, Everyone has his number, And knows what he is all about.

  32. Worky, Your not going to be short of an idea for the next article lol.
This petty move by these idiots will sir up more hatred towards them.

  33. Stupid move by the goons running the club, Putting the media off side is suicide foe them.
These papers could not half put the boot into the regime now, And stir up pure hatred, If they want to!

  34. I broke a promise to myself not to watch anymore matches.I have a friend from the north east down for the weekend and was persuaded. It was not to bad because I’d seen it all before several times last season and the season before so it wasn’t anything new or surprising.
This won’t make any difference Pathetic Pardew will be going nowhere he fits right in with Ashley Kinnear etc.
The Wonga shirt clad sheep will be filing into the ground for another helping of Pathetic Pardew crap next game. Two consecutive relegations might just swing it though.

  35. I have to admit I didn’t think the freedom marchers would hit a bullseye like this first time oot, but they have, albeit indirectly and thanks to a piece of unbelievable stupidity from the club.

    Well done them.

  36. I suppose this is the regime showing their disappointment in finding out that people they thought were very much in their camp maybe aren’t after all (when really, it’s just the Chronicle printing a story which HAD to be reported on as it would have looked pretty damned suspicious if they hadn’t).

Will the daft sideshows and the clumsy intrigue never stop?
