Joe Kinnear’s latest interview video on Gomis, Bent, Remi etc…

Posted on August 4th, 2013 | 13 Comments |

Joe Kinnear gives his latest interview to Sky Sports after his latest charity cricket match with a Bunbury 11.

In it he gives the latest news on his quests for Loic Remy, Bafetimbi Gomis and Darren Bent, along with a bit of insight into his general thinking towards the end.

He wasn’t brave enough to have a crack at saying “Bafetimbi” yet, but he’s still referring to Newcastle United’s top striker as “See-See.”

  1. If only you could believe the words coming out of Kinnear’s mouth…then we could be looking at 2, possibly 3 strikers coming in, plus that “other position”, which I believe is a winger-Tom Ince would be fantastic Joe! :D

I genuinely hope he is successful- because although he’s an embarrassment to all of us if he managed to get say Gomis, Remy and Tom Ince through the doors then we’d have a cracking squad to go in to battle with.

It is a little frustrating though that he wants to wait until the strikers are done and dusted before trying for the “other position”. Why not get that role filled at the same time? Surely you can bid and have talks with more than a 2 or 3 players over the space of a week (or 2 months in JFKs case so far). It takes us forever to do these deals nowadays. :(

Regardless I feel a bit more positive now and just have to hope (and pray) Joe isn’t talking out of his backside again.

  2. Well he didn’t say things would happen on Friday, Which he became famous for, In his first stint.
I just hope for his sake he can get some of these deals done, So the fans and some sections of the media, Will get off his back!

  3. I still think JFK should avoid the press until he actually has something positive to say.Get the job done then make a prepared statement to the press. No way should he speak every time someone sticks a mike in his face he is not clever enough to do that.

  4. Can’t understand why he’s even speaking to the press without having some actual news of somebody having signed on the dotted line. Maybe he’s just trying to let the fans know how many doors he’s been opening

  5. According to the Express, Villa have come out and said Newcastle have not even held talks with them, Let alone have a bid in for him.
They say Newcastle are nowhere near to signing Darren Bent, And the only bid they have is from Fulham, For 4 million, Which has been rejected.
Make out of that, What you will, looks like one party is talking rubbish!

He was playing a charity cricket game, Nutmag. He’s done it every few weeks over the summer months since his son died of cancer.

Well here’s the entire story, Joe.

“Aston Villa insist Newcastle are not close to signing £6m-rated Darren Bent

“ASTON VILLA deny Newcastle have made a bid for Darren Bent.

“A club spokesman said last night there are no talks between Villa and Newcastle for the striker, who is available at £6m.

“Joe Kinnear, Newcastle’s director of football, is under pressure to make signings, but the only offer Villa have had for Bent is from Fulham for £4m.

“That was turned down and there has been no revised bid from them.”

There’s no byline, no substantiation, nothing. So, are we willing to lynch him based on that?

  8. Worky, At the end of the day, It’s not Joe’s fault, It comes back to the Ayatollah himself, Fat boy Mike Ashley!
Doesn’t matter who is in charge of transfers, Jabba is a nightmare to work for.
Like Joey Barton says, Nothing happens without his say so!

  9. Worky @7
Being at a Charity cricket match or anywhere else is my point.A simple “negotiations are on going” would be enough and talk about the charity he is supporting. If the press don’t like it tough.

Then he would called evasive and accused of covering up his own lack of progress due to incompetence blah blah… He simply can’t win against the lynch mob.

  11. Uncle Joe is damned if does, And damned if he don’t!
The fans will s**t a brick, When he ends up manager lol
I have seen some of the patter from other boards, And it goes along the lines of, “Joe has been brought in to purposely sabotage the window, So Pardew has the worst possible team, To pick from, Come the start of the season”
Even if Ashley brings down the axe on Joe, His job is done, And Pardew goes on to make a right b*lls of it!
He will do that anyway, Without any help along the way.

Ashley is a questionable owner to say the least, But i don’t go along with the train of thought, That he is behind some nefarious plan to f**k with the fans, And destroy the Club.
If he cocks it up, He also suffers, And his investment is down the sh***er!

In reality he is just a hard headed business man, Who wants to do everything on the cheap, And thinks he can succeed with the same principals, That made him his money, In the first place.
He wants World domination on a shoe string, But it ain’t going to happen.
Daft Bob Murray at Sunderland was banging the same drum as Ashley, And look where they ended up.
He was always saying the days of big transfers were coming to an end, And he didn’t want to spend any money, And thought other Clubs should do the same.
All that happened to him was, He got bottled in the face by some disgruntled mackem waiter, In a Newcastle restaurant, So take heed Ashley! lol
