21 year old Toon transfer target.

The striker is a lad called Joakim Rudolfsen and he plays for Norway’s famous third-tier Mo IL side. Apparently he was first spotted by Dennis Wise and has continued to be tracked by Norman Wooster, our Scandinavian scout.
Apparently Rudolfsen recently scored a hat-trick in 14 minutes against Asker and has scored 18 goals in 18 games this season already.
The Chronicle speculates that Hughton might make a move for the striker in the January transfer window, but I doubt it myself. Rudolfsen is the sort of striker who looks like an investment for the future and I’d be surprised if that interests Mike Ashley at the moment.
Even though Rudolfsen would only command a nominal fee I think Hughton’s concerns in the January transfer window will mainly be related to the current campaign.
Anyway, the Chronicle has a source close to Mo IL (don’t we all?) who said:
“Everybody here knows that Newcastle have been watching him.
“They are not alone though as many of the top clubs here in Norway also like the look of him.
“He’s progressed very quickly in a short space of time.
“English football is huge here in Norway and both the Premier League and the Championship are screened live here so he would need no introduction to the English game.
“Any youngster from this part of the world would jump at the chance to play in England, especially at a club like Newcastle.”
I did actually manage to find a video of him scoring, which you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTLKcZ2lu9E
I’m suprised Ashley is still paying scouts why would he be planning for the long term. If he doesn’t sing the player he might as well sack the scout
