Up for grabs this week!Welcome to the latest in our series of NUFC Blog close season competitions.
This time the first prize is a signed 16″ x 12″ glossy photo of Papiss Cisse, hand signed with a marker pen by the hitman himself! The second prize is a 12″ x 8″ photo of Hatem Ben Arfa after he scored his wondergoal against Bolton, once again, hand signed by the Gallic wing wizard.
Instructions and the first set of questions
As with our other competitions, this is only open to registered users of the site for security reasons (we wouldn’t want anyone else nicking your prize!), but if you aren’t yet a registered member, never fear, it only takes seconds to join! Just click on the “Register” link in the login section of the site (right hand side) and follow the instructions from there.
Then, all you have to do is answer the questions below and the ones in the next competition post (tomorrow) and when you’ve done this, simply post the answers to us along with your username on the site using our contact page.
So, without further ado, here are the first round of questions!(more…)
Ginola and Ketsbaia in their 14 shirts.Firstly, many thanks for all of you who took part in our latest competition, this time to win the latest Newcastle United “Season Review 2011/12” DVD.
Well, the deadline for the competition ended at midnight yesterday. So shortly after that witching hour, after checking for any very late entries, I took all the correct answers and selected a winner using the same high tech methods as I did for the previous shirt competition, ie a bucket and some folded up pieces of paper. After shaking the bucket around a bit and closing my eyes, I picked out a winner.
But before I get to that, I will just remind you all of the question asked in the competition, along, of course, with the two answers for the question asked. So, here goes!
Question: What was David Ginola’s shirt number at Newcastle United, and who took it over after he left? (more…)
Live the best bits of last season all over again! In the wake of our recent win an NUFC away shirt competition, won by site user “DarthBroon,” we are now having another one of our close season competitions in the pause between our epic, twice a season prediction competitions.
This time, the prize will be the latest “Newcastle United Season Review 2011/12” DVD, and as you will know yourselves from watching the games last season, it is great viewing. Certainly far better than the 2008/9 edition anyway!
Delight once again in the antics (and goals) from Hatem Ben Arfa, Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse and the rest of the gang in what turned out to be our best season for some time on the pitch. What better to get yourself revved up for our Euro journey next season?
Anyway, here’s the rules and such:
As with our usual competitions, the prize is only open to registered users of the site for security reasons (we wouldn’t want anyone else nicking your prize!), but if you aren’t yet a registered member, never fear! It only takes seconds to join. Just click on the “Register” link in the login section of the site (right hand side) and follow the instructions from there.
Then, all you have to do is answer the fairly simple question below and when you’ve done this, simply post the answer to us along with your username on the site using our contact message form.
So, without further ado, here is the question!(more…)
Congratulations to DarthBroon! Many thanks to all of you who took part in our competition for next season’s away shirt.
The winner has now selected at random by the time honoured method of writing all the names of the competitors who got the answers correct on a piece of paper, folding them up, putting them into a bucket, mixing them up up, then picking one out with my eyes closed.
And the winner is:
DarthBroon!
So, congratulations, DarthBroon. If you could send in your username, delivery name, delivery address and shirt size using the same e.mail address you used for the answers, I will get a new shirt sent out to you.
For those of you who are curious, here are the answers!(more…)
