Good afternoon Geordies (or should that be good evening?) and welcome to our regular “match banter” feature.
Today of course we face Tottenham Hotspur away at White Hart Lane. If you read my match preview you will see from the stats alone that this should be a very tough proposition for the Magpies despite the Tottenham manager’s recent “distractions.” However, Spurs’ drab 0-0 stalemate against Liverpool may give cause for both hope and despair. Whilst they seemed to lack their usual potency upfront, they certainly kept things tight at the back, but we’ll see.
As usual, i will try to post the team sheets for the game below as quickly as I can once they become available.
This game will be broadcast in the UK on ESPN.
Howay the Lads!
Tottenham Hotspur fact.
Tottenham Hotspur are widely beleived to have been named after a Geordie, Harry Hotspur the 2nd Duke of Northumberland, who owned much of the land on which Tottenham now stands.
