Gan on!Predictions can now be made for week 2 of the NUFCBlog.org Premier League prediction competition.
Now look, I know the prize money is only £25 at the end of the season, but £25 can be the difference between a night with the woman of your dreams and a fish from the the mountain streams, if you know what I mean (and I’m sure you do).
It’s only week two and just because some clever clogs has 11 points it doesn’t mean you can’t catch up. I have only 1 point and I still live in hope, although not much.
We have 17 entrants and I want 20 to make it worthwhile considering this competition for next season, so please click on the Prediction Competition menu item if you’re tough enough.
Can you beat this man?Prediction competition available on NUFCBlog.org.
Some people are blessed with the ability to see accurately into the future whilst others struggle to accurately remember what happened in the past, even if it was just 5 minutes ago.
However, if you’re of the former persuasion and think you can predict Premier League football scores then you might enjoy NUFCBlog.org’s ‘Prediction Competition’.
And you could win £25 (or a prize worth £25 – haven’t decided exactly what yet, but it will be that value) if you’re leading the table at the end of this season.
Basically, you have to predict the scores in the Saturday, Sunday and Monday Premier League games and you get 3 points if you get the right result and exact score, and you get 1 point if you just get the right result (but wrong score).
You can either click here to find out more about the competition and here to make your predictions for the coming weekend, or have a look at the top menu under ‘Prediction Competition‘.
Predictions need to be made by midday on Saturday. They will ‘lock’ after that and you won’t be able to make or change them. (more…)
This is just a quick note to let you all know that due to problems with the site’s current server during very busy times, we will be migrating to a new one from around 2pm tomorrow afternoon (6th January). There shouldn’t be too much inconvenience, however there may be a fairly short period when ‘blog activity is stopped, and comments locked for a few hours or so. When this process is over, the site should be running much better, with far fewer glitches and delays during busy times.
Many thanks in advance for your patience during these changes.
Farewell, but not goodbye. It is with extreme sadness that I am announcing my intention to cease writing articles for NUFCBlog.org.
But I just wanted to pen one last article to thank each and every one of you for being so supportive during my writing tenure on this very site. So here goes.
A couple of years ago I only ever used to post comments on blogs and forums and never really thought about getting involved in the writing side of things.
I always thought, never having being the best at creative writing, in fact writing full stop, that I would never be any good at it. I guess that is something that is up to each individuals taste I guess, whether I was any good with writing articles, but I decided to ask and see if I could give it a go, and Workyticket very kindly gave me the opportunity to do so on here.
I’ve made many friends on here and try to get on with everyone, although obviously things get heated from time to time. Still, I caught the bug and enjoyed writing about everything that happened to be going on at our beloved Newcastle United at any given time. Usually there is quite a lot to talk about when it comes to NUFC! (more…)
Roll up, roll up for the NUFC Blog 'howay-day'!Roll up! Roll up! The NUFCblog awayday is here!
Well, not actually yet but it could be! The plan for this very first ever NUFCblog awayday is to get as many bloggers as possible to go to an away game and basically just have an ace time. If you are interested please read on…
The plan so far is to leave SJP on Sat the 12th Febuary for the away match at Blackburn Rovers. The reasons for picking this game is that tickets should be plentiful for non-members, it isn’t the other side of the universe and at this moment in time it is listed as a non-televised 3pm Saturday kick-off.
At this point nothing is planned until there is enough interest so please email me before you buy a ticket! The email address for the Awayday is as follows:
