As some of you already know, I am currently the Newcastle United blogger for metro.co.uk, the website for the free newspaper distributed in London and several other major cities throughout the UK.
This time, I want to prepare two pieces for my Metro blog with your views. The first will be to reflect the views of my fellow Newcastle United fans on the current Yohan Cabaye transfer situation, and the second will be on Wonga’s sponsorship of Newcastle United now that the season has started. You can express your views on both topics or just one if you prefer but please read the note on word limits below if you want to contribute.
Like the previous one, they won’t be an epic pieces overall as they word limited, so it would be great if you could keep your entries to around 50 words for each topic, or 60 if you really must! To give you an idea, the paragraph after this one is 65 words, so something just a little shorter than that would be fine. If you don’t have Microsoft Word or something similar with a word counter and can’t be bothered to count the words one by one, you can find a very good online word counter here. (more…)
In it, instead of my views, there are the views of several NUFC blog readers, all expressed within around 50-60 words. There are views from nufc bloggers Joe Sharpe, Tony Toon, GS, Pete Toon, Steve P, Joe Hawkins, Tunyc, Sampdiago and Dokky on what the current season might hold in store for Newcastle United and it is well worth a read, with views ranging from the cautiously optimistic to gloomy premonitions of impending catastrophe.
Hope you like it and many thanks to all of you who contributed! (more…)

Anyway, I want to prepare a piece over the next few days for my Metro blog which features the thoughts of my fellow Newcastle United fans about what the coming season might bring for the club, whether it’s about Alan Pardew, how well you think we will do in what remains of the transfer window, where you think we will finish or whatever.
As it won’t be an epic piece overall as it is word limited, so it would be great if you could keep your entries to around 50 words. To give you an idea, the paragraph preceding this one is 58 words, so something slighly shorter would be fine, or about the same about the length if you absolutely must, but definitely nothing over 60 words please. If you don’t have Microsoft Word or something similar with a word counter and can’t be bothered to count the words one by one, you can find an online word counter here. (more…)
This is just a quick note to let all you regular readers know that I will be blogging for Metro.co.uk on a more regular basis from now on.
They made me an offer a while ago to increase the quantity of my writing on there and I decided to take them up on it.
As well as that, I will also be working on some things around the back of this blog for a while too, along with other stuff before next season starts. This means that I will be blogging less than usual over the next few weeks, but there should be a new, improved blog ready for the coming season.
In the latest development in NUFC Blog’s inexorable rise to world domination, we are now the official NUFC bloggers for Metro.co.uk, the free newspaper much read by tube and train travellers down in that London.
I will posting stories on there which will not available on here so keep checking it out and don’t forget to leave a comment and say hello! The first one is about Newcastle United’s January transfer window, and in it I look at a few players I have been observing who the Magpies should be pursuing, but who have been missed in by usual Toon gossip and speculation mongers. Other stories will be updated around once a week hopefully.
You can find the main page by following the link below, so don’t forget to save it in your favourites. I will also be putting a link to it in the sidebar of this site too.
