As expected, Newcastle United are having an indifferent season, and manager Steve Bruce is dividing opinions. While one can understand that he could not spend what he would have liked to in the summer transfer window, it must be noted that the team are not playing free-flowing and dynamic football that many fans would like to see.

Just like last season, Newcastle are not going to get relegated from the Premier League, but the St. James’ Park faithful would like to see the team show more ambition. It may be a case of hoping against hope, but perhaps things in December will change. (more…)

The 2020-21 Premier League season is well underway and this year’s Newcastle squad has a very different feel to last season. In classic Newcastle fashion though, despite the promise of a newly formed squad, results have been mixed. It’s best to seek guidance and opinion from professionals when trying to predict any fixture in the Premier League this season, but this is especially true of the Toon Army given their revised attacking options.

Bruce himself has come under criticism and pressure from fans since joining the club, and many have questioned the transfers brought into Newcastle in recent years, with Mike Ashley usually the first to be blamed. The Newcastle Chairman has given the club a cash injection under Bruce’s tenure, and it’s fair to say that the jury is still out on most of the recruitment. (more…)

Positivity is the key
It’s not all bad for Newcastle right now.
It’s fair to say it hasn’t been much fun to be Newcastle United fan for the past decade and beyond.

Given the stature of the club, the iconic ground, the history and the huge fan base, demanding a team that can be competitive in the Premier League shouldn’t be too much of an ask.

Of course, we all know that hasn’t happened. Instead, the Magpies have endured a difficult spell that has seen no chances of silverware, falling down to the Championship twice. (more…)

The recent collapse of the Saudi-led takeover of Newcastle United has left Magpies’ supporters in a state of limbo.

Owner Mike Ashley is believed to still be eager to offload the club, although fans will undoubtedly feel that they have heard it all before.

The £300 million deal was still being scrutinised by the Premier League when the bidders withdrew, sparking an outpouring of sadness across the fanbase.

With the news likely to have a major impact on the club’s ability to compete in the transfer market, we take a closer look at the job manager Steve Bruce now faces.
