  1. good point for us, esp since we played 50mins with 10men whilst liverpool had 11 plus the ref playing for them

  2. Well pleased with that considering I feared the worst. M’biwa’s done himself no good but it was good to see some drive and passion from the team. I liked the front three combo. All of them are capable of interchanging positions so that could cause teams a headache. Dummet’s goal was a class finish, not many can guide the ball in like that at the speed it came to him!

  3. I’ve just doing a bit of scouting work watching the U17s world cup with Canada vs Austria. Some of the Austrian players have have some excellent names like Endlicker, Bumgardener and Lurcher.

  4. Just watched Southampton draw with Manure. They look an excellent team and deserved more than a point. Good manager, and a very well run club with an excellent academy and a core of English talent. If anyone thinks Ashley’s done a good job in seven years, then compare it to what Southampton have. Our academy is a shambles.

Worky, have a look into what Kinnear said in the program notes about Spurs etc having far more commercial interest etc. Maybe it’s because they don’t have a tatty ‘sports shop’ advertising for free everywhere.

  5. Jimbob they lost me £246 quid on my accumulator all my others come in! bast**ds!! on a plus note look at the table and the mackems are in deeeeeeeeeep sh*t

I telt ye Jimbob, I’m scouting.

Kelechi Iheancho, remember the name! :-)

Aye, they keep doing this “we can’t compete with the top six” shite but as I pointed out in my piece the other day, we aren’t competing with clubs who ARE on the same kind of level as Newcastle United either.

Ashley really does need a nasty shock, but he isn’t going to get it unless Geordies develop a spine and a few pairs of gonads, and that’s highly doubtful.

  7. It’s doubtful Worky, as long as the Wonga brigade need their footy fix.

Dokky, that happens to me everytime I do one of those so I’ve given up!

  8. Thought the red card was a bit harsh. Marriner’s a crap ref. He should have swapped shirts with Steeeevie Gee after the game.

On the plus side, we didn’t lose and no one got bitten.

Sad bastard that I am, I was watching videos and pictures of the marchers to see how many were wearing Wronga shirts.

  10. Good Point…we always shoot ourselves in the foot in big games though.
Anyway the mood is good and I just hope the missus pumps me off all over her face and boobies tonight with the same passion as King Pards and his 14 mighty pumps

Thanks for sharing, SJT. I believe the correct terminology is giving the missus a pearl necklace?

It’s a shame about Sunderland losing 4-0 and conceeding two own goals.

  12. Pearl Necklace proper old school that…..I prefer the following terminology…face omelette haha or Pearl Tash, bit of a menu going on haha

  13. I dunno if someone could survive anything given with the same passion as a Pardew fist pump SJT, especially 14 of them. Not without some ectoplasm being spilled anyway.

  14. Happy enough with a point to-day, especially as we played a man down for a large part of the game.
To go ahead while we were shorthanded was a boost for the side and obviously a thrill for local lad, Dummitt.
Not making excuses but Liverpool looked heavy legged to-day, but we also had men on International duty, so they can’t claim that as an excuse.
Certainly the side has played well over the last two games, crisp passing and a look of a somewhat organized side.
There are no unbeaten sides and some of the money teams are finding it tough going, with M.U. finding it difficult and taking like ourselves one point from a tough to beat Southampton, lying in fourth.
Hopefully we can take all three points next week from Sunderland and gradually move up the table.
Our midfield played well to-day, Cabaye, Tiote, Sissoko and Gouffran, Though some may have missed how much running and effort they put into it.
Though i’m not a big fan of HBA as a striker, rather he played behind him.
I just don’t get it he being exchanging, for a natural opportunist Remy, who was played,(or actually both were misplayed) on the wing.
One of these days he’s gonna get it right, I hope.

We can manage, with what we have apart from needing two wingers, (hopefully Ince and Zaha) but need Some help on the back line, We are well stocked with FB’s and Santon can play either side, but Colo is getting long in the tooth and the way Taylor plays means injuries.
A good young CD should be the most important consideration, plus try to sign Remy.
But don’t play him on the wing FFS.
A special mention for Tiote, who’s natural role is as a sweeper in front of the back four, if he ever learns how to distribute the ball, then maybe M.U. may come for him.

  15. Chuck, it’s remarkable that you still don’t have the generosity of spirit to acknowledge Mike Williamson. Arguably, he turned in one of the two key performances yesterday (along with Cabaye who was the MotM) leading the whole defence, and he was carrying a knock too according to Pardew. He only had Dummett training with the first team before the game because he didn’t think that Williamson would make it through and Taylor wasn’t quite ready for a return either.

    Credit where credit is due.

  16. Worky

I was generous to Williamson in not mentioning the fact, he was the player who should have (had he not been slower than molasses)intercepted the pass that resulted in Sturridge’s goal.
You really have to get off this, Williamson thing, as I think you are becoming delusional about his abilities, not to mention personal about the whole thing.

  17. Army light

Though he lacks certain skills, there are fewer players in the league who can break up opponents attacks like he can and yes he had a good game.

  18. I also thought Santon and Debuchy, curtailed their runs during the game and played better defense than they have in a while.
And having watched young Dummett in the couple of games he has played, thought he certainly doesn’t look out of place, could be a decent player in time, nice set of wing backs for Wales, Dummett on one side and Bale on the other.

“Tiote was man of the match for me”

Toon, he certainly worked hard and got stuck in but not for the first time, his distribution let him down a bit. He also had a hand in Liverpool’s first goal by keeping them onside.

One of the bright spots for us was the absence of Enrique with a knock. We never should have let him go. Aly Cissokho has hardly played in the Premier League yet and he wasn’t brilliant in Enrique’s place. Fair play to Dummett, he took that second goal beautifully but Cissokho could have been a bit better there.

  20. difficult to choose a motm yesterday, williamson, tiote and cabaye were all outstanding as was gouffran whose workrate and attitude were magnificent.

the continued renaissance in iron mike is most welcome. the baseless boo-boy prejudice is just boring.

  21. “I just hope the missus pumps me off all over her face and boobies tonight with the same passion as King Pards and his 14 mighty pumps”

This is hilarious…only 14 pumps though? Oh well, happens to the best of us…
