  1. are you for real chuck? both cisse goals were offside?
just goes to prove,it does’nt matter how many times you explain the offside rule to a bitch the penny just doesnt drop…SMB

  2. I can’t be the only one thinking this was a case of possible fixing, right?

I’ve watched the videos several times now and the decisions get worse each time. Especially the first one, which really isn’t even close.

“I can’t be the only one thinking this was a case of possible fixing, right?”

tunyc, I didn’t want to say anything until I’d deeply probed it, but I have heard that FC Metalist have been under investigation by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. It’s for alleged match fixing in a domestic game against FC Karpaty Lviv.

  4. And what has any of the above to do with a linesmans decission.
You folks sound not only paranoid, but crazy.
Some of you gotta get out a bit more!

  5. To me having recorded the game and watched it several times the first goal is clearly onside by at least a yard. The length of time taken by the linesman to raise his flag indicates he was clearly unsure of himself and made a guess. Very poor linesman, should be removed from Europa competition. The second goal could be called either way. Maybe Cisse had a leg out in front, maybe not. We should have won and I hope the fix wasn’t in. Can’t fault the team or Pardew for this one.

  6. Just so GeordieTwo, that’s a very good way of summing them up. He definitely had a bit of leg in front for the second one though. Their bodies were very level but they were in different parts of their stride.

  7. bang on lads…ukrainian mafia got to that cnut ov a linesman..if thats true about them already been done Worky, how the fk have they been allowed to play in europe?..money talks?

  8. <<<<<<<<<<, feels like we been cheated out of seeing the TOON in the last 16 by a bent linesman :(

  9. <<<<<<<<<<<< just cant see us sending a strong team to there place for the reply, means they wont get back to england til friday morning, with the southampton game sunday

  10. Now let’s not jump the gun here. Linesmen make very poor calls quite often and it doesn’t necessarily mean they are bent. FC Metalist are also under different ownership since the affair I mentioned above too.

  11. Worky @12
think i read something about these syndicates/mafia/gangsters grabbing n bribing young officals in this latest match fixing scandal.am not saying the officals from last night have defo been nobbled but it is a touch suspicous that both times Cisse puts the ball in the net that lino sticks his flag up.

  12. Jack, you can also look at it from the other side too. Cisse has had a reputation for jumping the gun recently including in that game. When that happens, sometimes linesmen (shite ones) just get lazy and lift their flags every time that certain player makes a run for it.

On the subject of the “Ukrainian mafia,” there are still two Ukraines really, a Russian Ukraine and a proper Ukraine which are almost a 50/50 split and there’s a constant power struggle between the two factions. Kharkiv is just over the Russian border, hence it’s very Russian. So I would say that a Kharkiv mafia would be more of a Russian mafia than a Ukrainian mafia.

  13. aye Worky,if they were prem officals fair do’s,they kna Cisse is the Inzaghi ov the prem, but officals from Norway…howay man.so sorry mate am not having that as an excuse n cant agree wiv you on that one.
on the russian/ukrainian subject tho its potato/potaato :-)

  14. Definitely some lousy decisions (on the part of one linesman in particular) but, on a positive note, they’ve missed their chance to score away goals.

We can still do well over there.

If Pardieu fields a decent team (and cancels the half-time talk), I think we’ll go through.

  15. <<<<<<<<<< thinks the smart money will be on them now, ganna be a tough ask for the kids to win there in my opion, and this dude will be amazed if we send the 1st team
