I shall be filling in the official teamsheets for the game when they finally become available, and if you have any good links to the game, please feel free to share them in the comments below.

  1. Worky:

Krul; R.Taylor, Simpson, Perch, Santon; Obertan, Cabaye, Gosling, Gutierrez (c); Ba, Shola Ameobi.

Subs: Elliot, Ferguson, Smith, Sammy Ameobi, Ben Arfa, Lovenkrands, Best.

Santon finally gets a start, so Simpson in the middle. Still a great looking team.

Thanks Phisix, I was just filling that out as you posted it. Still looking for the Norwich team though!

  3. Kadar for Raylor should have been, but Pardew still thinks Raylor can do the job even after getting ripped to shreds from the last three games.

  4. Lee ryder confirmed Raylor will be at right back. Bit strange seeing as he needs guti. I hope Santon plays amazing and knocks Raylor from the starting XI.

“Looks a pretty good team given the problems we’ve got.”

UTD111 Good to see you commenting in here. I was gannin’ to e.mail you later to see if you were having any more problems?

I was just having a look at your blog the other day too. I liked what I read!

“anyone have a link to share?”

Aye willo, I was finally filling out what Paul Lambert had to say in my match preview and seeing if the Norwich team was out yet.

Does anyone have any good links?

  7. r taylor should be dropped, even in the event of all these injuries he has not performed so shouldnt play, awfully naieve against chelsea he was in the opposing half and sturridge had no1 to stop him, colo covered and was getting pulled out of position because of raylor, santon has to play from now on or ferguson!!

  8. Abied should have been on the bench instead of Smith. I guess Pardew needs a defensive type player just in case we need to park the bus or protect a lead before the final whistle.

    “Worky – thanks mate!

Yes I appear to be back in the land of the living”

    Did you reboot your modem?

  10. Worky – I regularly unplug the wireless router to give it a fresh start…maybe that was it. If it happens again, that’s the first thing I’ll try. Cheers

  11. That Vipbox one is Skysports, but ive checked Sky and there are no Premiership matches on those channels today.

“Looking at that team i get the feeling we might see a bit of hoofball today.”

I think that Norwich are a bit like that anyway 69.

  14. Santon is far superior to Raylor after only this small amount of time. He should replace him now.

  15. time for ben arfa if we want more movement on the ball, may be.With Shola off and 1-2 the second half! Howay lads!

  16. Obertan being shocking as ever. He needs to runing at or past defenders, not start to run, stop then lose it.

    Ameobi off, replace with Benny!

  17. Phisix @ 42

Same as me, saw the score appear on SSN whilst watching the game on the laptop where the ball was still in our half.

  18. I’ve turned if off now lol.

Guto and Ober finding it hard to get past defenders. I think we need some new quality wingers.

  19. Having Obertan is like playing without right winger. Why Benny isn’t used as a winger player by Pardew. Have anybody heard any arguments?

  20. Shola looks as if he is heading for a red card. If Pardew cannot calm him down in the dressing room then perhaps he should be replaced by Ben Arfa as Norwich look like a team with space to exploit that Ben Arfa would relish.

Will be very surprised if Obertan is not replaced.

Santon looks good, but must keep his arm down in the penalty area! Gosling is doing well especially his forays into their penalty area.

“Why Benny isn’t used as a winger player by Pardew. Have anybody heard any arguments?”

    Asemski, Pardew said on Benny:

“My view is that he can’t play out wide. He has not got the relish for it and his best football comes through the middle.”

  22. thanks workyticket,
but i think we’re more losers than winners with such phylosophy. Hope to see the wrong

  23. 1-3 down, Gosling off…..Looking a bit uphill now….

    “Get out of our club
    Get out of our club
    You FCB
    get out of our club..

Where did I put that bedsheet

  24. So we now have no CMF except Cabaye and Abied next week. Pardew is a joke. His crap tactical decisions are showing now.

  25. Tiote injured. Guthrie injured. Gosling suspended. Hmmmmm… I wonder if we can pick up some more injurys this game to make it just laughable.

  27. Set pieces are a massive weakness for us.. Even with our real team playing. Hoping january gets us some good buys else it’s another 10th place~

  28. Did not see the first goal, but is that 3 headers gone in for them now? Guess that is what happens when Simpson and Perch are up against Morrisson and Holt… Not the players fault, just shows how much we needed extra depth but our tight bastard owner disagreed.

“Set pieces are a massive weakness for us.. Even with our real team playing.”

53% of goals against us have been set pieces until today maze.

    I tend to agree Jimbob.

  31. Worky… Not surprised we lost at all today. In fact I was sure that the two bigguns up top for Norwich would kill us if we had Perch and Simpson at the back… But what else could we do? Pardew wanted cover at the back and DL and MA failed to back him… Those two twats could easily undo the great work Pardew and the players have done.

Anyway on to Swansea, Colo should be back, but this game is a stark reminder of what could happen if the owner sees a profit to be made in January with certain key players.

  32. The only possitives today were Santon, Cabaye and future no9 Ba. Pardew knows no tactics and he needs to stop w@nking over obershite and raylor.

“53% of goals against us have been set pieces until today maze.”

Thats a pretty high stat is it not? Not sure where other clubs are conceding though.

I think Santon played reasonably well.
    Perch pretty badly.
Gosling had some shots on and off target before showing us what he’s really capable of.

All in all we need to strengthen.. everywhere.

  34. Not an inevitable result but an inevitable way their goals were scored. Two big bruisers against two slight fullbacks. I don’t think Swansea lump the ball to two big lumps.

Hopefully Colo will be back for the next game but who will now partner Cabaye in the midfield as Gosling is banned for three games. Perhaps Abeid or even Raylor with Santon remaining at left back.

  35. ——-Krul——
    Simpson-Willo-Colo-Santon
    ——–Raylor—

This is how we should line up at the back next week. Raylor would be awesome in DMF.

“Pardew wanted cover at the back and DL and MA failed to back him… ”

They want quality players for 50% off Jimbob, like you see in Sports Direct shops. No one has let them have any half price centre backs yet, so we’ll just have to wait.

“Theres a slight silver lining for perhaps 24 hours! Sunderland in the relegation zone”

Aye maze, but that was agent Bruce gannin’ too far and getting the boot. We want them below us in the Premiership, so we can get an easy 4-6 points a season, not relegated. ;-)

They’ve got O’Neill now and he’ll probably sort them out eventually :-(

  38. Kadar must be bad if he can`t get a game with the injuries at CB. At least he is physically strong and is relatively tall, that weed Perch would have problems with confronting anybody with a physical presence. Whilst Pardew faced a difficult situation today I still don`t think he made the best of what we have got. Smith should never get near the first team even as a sub and obertan must be living on borrowed time.

  39. if we lose to swansea , that will be no wins in five , will fatboy then sack pardew to bring in someone with more experience , like last season ?
then he can proceed to sell the family silver again , in january.

  40. Well Trojan he`d get Bruce for nowt unattached. We`d certainly have a rollercoaster with him with relegation guaranteed. Bruce is one of the most overated managers ever

“if we lose to swansea , that will be no wins in five ,”

Trojan, if we draw with Swansea, it would be no wins in five too ;-)

We’ll still be seventh for a few games yet though as we have a fairly big cushion over Aston Villa in eighth.

  42. Kadar not even on the bench!! Obertan still gettingt a start, boy doing even know the meaning of hard work. Pardew is exposed as the muppet we all knew he was.

  43. Worky,

Trouble in store for Swansea game as Cabaye is suspended and so of course is Gosling with Tiote still 50/50. Opportunity of Abeid and Vuckic or Smudger?

  44. Ah well, beaten by a team like Norwich, basically a top second tier no name side, hmmmm !
Anyone notice how the majority of the goals were scored? Basically bundled into the net all from a couple of yards out.
Our two lightweight CD’s. were outmuscled and could’nt compete in the air with the big Norwich forwards.
    Who to blame ?
Enough to go around, from a cheap ass owner to a manager who’s tactical awareness is challenged.
He would play the same game with the same side forever, cause he does’nt have the nous to pick a line up, that would best compete against the particular side he is facing.
Norwich, which scores mostly, not unlike the Bolton of BSA’s time, from set plays, with big guys in the box.
Who does he pick to counter that, the two smallest defenders.
I know we have injuries, thats why i allocate a certain amount of blame to Ashley for beginning the season without enough defenders.
Having watched to-days game, one of the questions i would like answered is, why have we waited until now, having virtually run out of defenders, to give Santon a start ?
He had a good game, looked comfortable on the ball, committed no major blunders, has a good turn of speed when needed, all in all, gave the appearance of a good partnership with Jonas.
would go as far as noticing a similarity with Enrique.
Hey ! ijust dont get it ?
As usual Cabey looke the class he is, great pass to Ba (the preditor) for the second goal, hope we can hang on to both these guys.
Obertan ? keeps running into crowds, got pace but makes poor decisions.
Gosling, poor game, needs match practice.
    Same old Shola.
Sammy, not that impressive, how about giving Abeid some time.
Woudda played HBA to-day either in place of Shola or Obertan, they cetainly would’nt have been missed.
SOH ! Ba, Cabaye and Santon played well, the rest, eah !
Even krul did’nt play that well.
Ashley better dig deep come the transfer window, cause this side is likely to end up fighting relegation rather than getting a spot in Europe.
    Ah well !

  45. Chuck,

Shola was actually very good today. I’d even give hin a joint NUFCMOTM with Ba for his good passing, distribution and the way he worked with the dodgy kneed goal machine. Is that what you meant by “Same old Shola”? ;-)

There shouldn’t be a witch hunt on Perch and Simpson, they weren’t great but they weren’t necessarily awful either, even if Norwich did dominate aerially. Actually, it was Krul who was off his usual form today, and of course, Gosling had an absolute mare.

“Cabaye is suspended? He only has 3 yellow cards this season. Did I miss something?”

maze, I was just trying to work that one out before I responded to Kamar.

  47. What a pity that those 2 beautiful goals by Ba were to no avail.

As expected, our central defense couldn’t possibly maintain the standard set.
Another sus decision got them on their way. Helped along with another sending off, after send offee played a great ball to set up their 3rd & crucial goal.
Gosling & ‘the norwich player’ kicked each others side-foot, how’s that a sending off?
    Pfffttt!

Great lob by Cabaye for the first, lovely trap & digging out of the ball by Ba.
Top work & great ball by Shola, & another class finish by Ba.

Willo back please, quick as you like kidda.

  48. Workey
Guess we are so enured to Shola not having good games, that if he has an ok game he gets praised.
And yeah, I know he sometimes scores that unlikely goal that gives us the victory.
But no I certainly would,nt include him anywhere close to,Cabaye, Ba and both Santon and to a lesser degree Jonas.
I think it,s about time we see how Abeid looks, can he play on the wing or is he an inside midfielder.
On the evidence to-day it looks like Gosling needs practice, perhaps some time with the reserves would help ?
And as we are without both Tiote and Guthrie, would it be possible to switch Jonas to that role, after all the man has the engine and defensive capeabilities to do the job, no ?

    Clint
The thought of Williamson back certainly doesnt thrill me any, even though he is a defender.
Just never rated the guy and believe time will prove me right.

  49. chuck,

Williamson is , not only literally, but footballingly, head & shoulders above Simpson & Perch at CB. He’s worked really well with Colo, so even if it’s him & a.n. other, that’s better than we’ve had in there today mate.
Every player ain’t gonna be ‘thrilling’ man.
He’s made very few mistakes since his recruitment.
Yea, i know some have took a dislike to him for not being Saylor or something, but that doesn’t detract from him being a good CB.

  50. Ah!

No mention of Ba’s excellent first goal on motd, what a surprise!..If that had been……….!

Nope, I wouldn’t either Chuck, I would say he was better than the examples you cite except for Ba. Poor Shola! Give a dog a bad name etc…

  52. Worky,

Pardew said in an aftermatch interview that Cabaye was suspended. Puzzling I know as I hadn’t thought he had knocked up that many yellows. Hopefully Pardew has his sums wrong.

  53. Workey
Give a dog a bad name, yeah i know !
I have mentioned a few times on these blogs, that Shola gives a certain false and deceptively languid appearance, which seems to infuriate our fans, who mistakenly assume he’s, not giving his all.
Funnily enough i have noticed the same type of movement, watching Sammy, must be genetic.
Actually having watched the EPL review, his pass to Ba for his second goal was a bit of ok, not quite Cabaye’s lob but an excellent pass.
Soh ! yeah in retrospect he did have a decent game.
