Shearer waxes lyrical

Madame Tussauds’ sculptors have spent four months creating a carbon copy of Alan Shearer for their waxworks in Blackpool. The man himself went to unveil the waxwork and was suitably impressed, saying:
“I think they’ve done such a great job its scary.
“It’s weird looking at yourself and thinking how incredibly alike it is.
“The figure is so realistic and accurate, the sculpting team have done an amazing job and I hope the public like it too.
“They take a million different measurements of everything and then do the cast which takes a few hours but we did it all in a day in London.
“You’d be surprised by the detail that goes in to it and now seeing it this close up you can see how careful they’ve been.
“My kids want to come down because they’ve already been to the one in London. They want to come down here now, probably so they can take the mickey out of me a bit.”
Shearer is the first celebrity to unveil a sculpture of himself at the new Blackpool showroom, which opened in April.
Allegedly they have a sculpture of Peter Andre too and if that doesn’t make it worth a visit I don’t know what will.
If they’re looking for more dummies, they need look no further than the NUFC board room!
