Hello, good afternoon and welcome to our regular “match banter” feature.

Today sees the Magpies facing a testing home fixture against Harry Redknapp’s stylish and dangerous North London club, Tottenham Hotspur, who are hot on the heels of ourselves at sixth in the Premiership with a game two games in hand on the opposition, one because this game is on a Sunday and one cancelled in the wake of civil unrest in one of the most salubrious parts of the capital.
