The Magpies will be fed to the Wolves at 3pm tomorrow.Venue: Molineux, Wolverhampton Date: Saturday, October 1st, 2011 Kick-off: 3:00pm Referee: Mark Halsey
Unless you’re heading to the wonderful West Midlands on Saturday, it’s time once again to scour the net for streams of Newcastle United’s visit to Molineux, as the Magpies take on Mick McMackem’s Wolves.
Newcastle United are still undefeated this term, including our two fixtures in the League Cup. Our unbeaten run now stretches to eleven competitive games. Under Alan Pardew, Newcastle have started picking up points, against the teams in which under Chris Hughton, we failed to do. Credit must be given to Pardew, as United have started the season in great fashion and currently occupy 4th place in the table. Whether or not we have been lucky in some of our results this season, Newcastle have looked better as each game progresses, and were outstanding in the recent games against Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers. I’m sure 99.9% of the Toon Army, didn’t expect us to be undefeated at this stage of the season, and tomorrows encounter versus an indifferent Wolves side, gives us a really good opportunity to extend our undefeated start to the season as we approach the early October international two week break. Who’d have thought that would be a possibility at the start of the season? (more…)
It's at their place.Venue: City Ground, Nottingham Date: Tuesday, Sept 20th, 2011 Kick-off: 7:45pm Referee: Lee Mason
Newcastle United are in action this Tuesday night, with a visit to see Dutch impressionist, Steve McClaren, and his struggling Nottingham Forest side.
The Magpies defeated a spirited Scunthorpe United team 2-1 in extra-time to earn a visit to the City Ground, while Nottingham Forest dispensed of rivals Notts County on penalties, after a 3-3 draw at home. There is no scheduled live broadcast for the match, so it will be time to scour the wonders of the world wide web once again to find a stream. Pop back here tomorrow for our match banter, and maybe someone may have been kind enough to share a link for you. If you find a decent one yourself, feel free to share your discovery with the rest of us.
Newcastle are coming into this game off the back of an impressive away performance at Villa Park, where in fairness, United deserved more than the point they earned. Nottingham Forest are probably still a little upset about their defeat to rivals Derby County at the weekend, it certainly seemed that way while I was at the Nottingham train station on late Saturday afternoon anyway. Newcastle’s last visit to Nottingham was in October 2009 during our Championship season, where we were defeated 1-0 thanks to a Dexter Blackstock strike.
Loftus Road beckonsVenue: Loftus Road, London Date: Monday, Sept 12th, 2011 Kick-off: 8:00pm Referee: Phil Dowd
After the annoying international break, Newcastle United return to Premier League action with a visit to the capital to take on Neil Warnock’s Queens Park Rangers.
The match is scheduled for live broadcasting via Sky Sports 1. Phil Dowd is the man in the middle, which could possibly be a good thing if you take into account it was he who was referee in our 4-4 draw against Arsenal, our 5-1 hammering of the Tramps and a memorable 4-3 victory at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea last season. Perhaps Dowd is now a good omen for the Magpies…
Much has been said about Joey Barton’s debut on Monday for Rangers, so I’m not going to go into detail about it because it’s boring and I don’t care. (more…)
'Trying is the first step towards failure'Seven months after the sale of Andy Carroll, Newcastle United have, to the surprise of no one, failed to sign a suitable replacement to fill the void up front.
A day of deadline drama, in which saw United lodge a “bid” for FC Twente’s Bryan Ruiz, has ended up falling flat on it’s face as Newcastle, for reasons unknown, decided to try and bring in a striker by submitting a bid 4 hours or so before the close of the transfer window.
Mr. Ashley had a helicopter ready to swish our man from the clutches of Martin Jol’s Fulham waiting in the capital, but (shock horror), the inevitable news from David Craig was that “unfortunately” United just couldn’t quite seal the deal for Ruiz, and also defender, Liam Ridgewell.
This ‘bid’ seems slightly reminiscent of last January’s “attempt” of bringing in a player (Charles N’Zogbia) just hours before the window closed. So after fans have endured a summer of rumours or “smokescreens” as I’d prefer to call it, Newcastle have failed in their quest to find a striker.
Shamone!Venue: St James Park, Newcastle Date: Sunday, 28th August Kick-off: 1:00PM Referee: Kevin Friend
Just two days after Thursday nights action at Glanford Park, Sunday afternoon sees a return to Premier League action as Martin Jol’s Fulham visit St James’ Park.
There is no scheduled live broadcast of the match, so it’s back to scouring the net for links I’m afraid. Pop back over for our match banter on Sunday and I’m sure the you’ll be able to find a link. If indeed you find a decent link for the match yourself, feel free to share the knowledge. Sharing is caring after all…
Newcastle have began the season well after holding Arsenal to a draw at home in the first game of the season and defeating the enemy in their own backyard last week. United currently have 4 points from their first 2 matches and haven’t conceded a goal as yet. Fulham began the season with a 0-0 draw at home to Aston Villa, followed by a 2-0 defeat last week at Mick McCarthey’s ever improving Wolverhampton Wanderers. Like Newcastle, Fulham were in action on Thursday night as they were in the Ukraine for their 2nd leg match in the Europa League against Dinipro. Fulham were defeated 1-0 on the night but still progressed to the next round after winning 3-1 on aggregate. (more…)
