The Toon face Nigel Clough’s Derby County this evening at Pride Park. On the back of a comprehensive 5-1 demolition of promotion hopefuls, Cardiff City, and with the new lads seemingly gelling with the rest of the team straight away, the lads should be on a high. Derby are a well supported team with a decent sized stadium, especially for the Championship, and a good match atmosphere should await the away supporters making the trip to Derby.

The Rams have had a pretty dire season so far, and are currently lying 18th in the Championship table. However this may be deceptive as their form has picked up recently, most notably with a surprising victory over their local rivals, and our promotion rivals, Nottingham Forest.
