The 20 year old has been out for no less than nine months since he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in a game for his previous club, Everton. This happened in a collison with Wolves’ goalkeeper, Marcus Hahnemann.
Speaking on the length he has been out through injury, Gosling said:
Dan Gosling: “Yeah, I think it’s about nine months now and it’s been a long time coming.
“I feel like I’ve been at the club for a while but have only played five minutes so far.”
Though Gosling played 5 minutes in injury time against the Mackems, he has also played two further games since coming back. The first being a 70 minute spell in a behind closed doors game with Hibs, and the second in a reserves fixture against Wigan.
Gosling continued:
“But I’m feeling better in myself and I’m getting close to full fitness now, and hopefully will have many more minutes on the pitch soon.” (more…)
