Match highlights of the Magpies’ 2-0 victory over Birmingham City yesterday evening, with goals by Peter Lovenkrands and Leon Best. It was probably Jonas Gutierrez who put in the “Man of the Match” performance however, providing two excellent assists for each of the goals.

Speaking after the game, manager, Alan Pardew, said of the team’s win:
