Owen for sale. How many articles about our club’s current plight will begin with “just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse”? Well, it seems on evidence, that most people involved with the club are trying their best to provide ammunition in order to justify the trend. The most recent being Mr Michael Owen, or at least his agency. The same Michael Owen who we signed amidst much hype that he would eventually fill the boots of Big Al. The same Michael Owen, who for many reasons, has failed dismally to live up to his form before and during his spell at Madrid. Steven Gerrard, a player with the creative spark that has been sadly missing in the Newcastle team of late, has expressed faith in Michael Owen to recapture his shooting boots, and return to the England squad. Also and in terms some Toon fans may find a little disparaging to say the least, he also expresses faith that Michael will return to a “big club”. Thankyou for that, Steven.
Speaking about his ex team-mate yesterday he said; “Errrrrrrrrm, I’m a (more…)

Gerrard said: “I’m a big fan of Michael Owen, a good friend of his. I’d love to see him get a move from Newcastle to a big club and get his England career back on track. (more…)
