  1. just like most chelsea fans i just want this season to end!
hope for them to be in top 4,still got 5 points from eve.
hope morinho will fix and make a new chelsea out of these youngsters (just like he did in the past) next season

  2. As an ex-chelsea supporter who only watches them play to see them lose, congrats to NUFC on a great great win. You had me worried for about 7-10 minutes but the last goal was very satisfying to watch. Chelsea, you won’t win another game all season. Just give up now. Oh, that’s right, you already did, months ago ;)

  3. That’s more like it. I am feeling much more confident now. Pardew for England, yes really, please take him. He didnt make any stupid substitutions. Maybe if he just doesnt get in the way we might be OK. A sort of non-manager. Sheep :) that man could start an argument in an empty room.

  4. we deserved that win,. we were the better side for the most part.
i fancied us to win today, i should have had a cheeky fiver on us.
sissoka looks one hell of a buy, right i’m off to get bladdered.

  5. Worky: you better be careful, there are thought police on this website. Great game though. The commentators on fox soccer enjoyed it. Warren had a big grin on his face.

“Sheep :) that man could start an argument in an empty room.”

I’ve never used that term as it reminds me of those daft conspiracy theorists who are always gannin’ on about “sheeple”. I never use “Philistines” to describe uncultured people either, as the Philistines were actually very cultured for their times and that was just Biblical bollocks. I’m very particular about that sort of thing.

  7. ckuGot to love this club.We just find em or buy em,rob lee ginola Lauren Robert, didi hamman, tiote cabaye bigi now sissoko.Got to love the mags

  8. I have been thinking about if Pardew is right and we are where we are because of injuries. My conclusion is no. When we had a full squad we still played cr@p. Pardew said we did well by just not losing players in the summer, so he thought the squad was fine or else he was lying. His subs against Reading and Villa were bizarre.

However, there must be a God and he continues to smile on Pardew. A journeyman player gets to manage NUFC, does everything he can to f it up and gets handed 5 Frenchies to bail him out.

  9. I was also thinking about what someone said about our managers. We have had some really cr@p managers. We seem to do OK despite their glaring lack of ability with the exception of keggy and Bobby Robson.

  10. when oh when will davide get the goal that he deserves, another excellent performance from him today

  11. To-days result will no doubt resound around both the league and possibly the French league.
With i assume a certain interest by both players and perhaps also with the general football fans in France.
This could be the first major step in building a brand name for NUFC.
Success is always rewarded and a successful football club, will be easier to sell than an unsuccessful one.
I dont mean for Ashley to take that literally, i ment the brand name, that brings in revenue, from fans outside the local catchment area where the club is located.
With the popularity of EPL football coverage, on a worldwide basis, and the tv revenues involved, which have by no means reached the levels possible.
Thats a lot of free advertising.
Any club in this league that gains the fancy of the public, whether as a winning side, a buccaneering style (like KK’s) silverware, you name it.
Should be able to generate a following of Worldwide fans, which in turn means increased revenue.
Take for example the both the marketing and PR organization presently in place at Glasgow Celtic.
(check out some of the videos of stadium extravaganzas )
For a side in a shit league, with a tv deal that is shit,
dwarfed by the revenues earned in the EPL.
They make the most of selling the brand, and i would venture to guess they sell ten times the shirts NUFC does.
A lot has been said about Ashleys business acumen, well he’s been here for around five years and i believe the sales of shirts has actually gone down.
For an owner who’s main business is selling sports equipment, whats wrong with that picture.
My basic point is, success for this club will bring added revenue, better players etc.
But without a good marketing and PR dept. that will never happen.
Time to wake up to the possibilities.

  12. Gutierrez was played in the right attacking midfield for the first time this season and he was the joint man of the match along with Sissoko, who were both superb. Pardew should try playing him there again until Benny gets better.

“A lot has been said about Ashleys business acumen, well he’s been here for around five years and i believe the sales of shirts has actually gone down.”

No Chuck, the sales of shirts from the club shop have been as good as they could be because they’ve been massively undercut by some company called “Sports Direct.”

So perhaps Ashley does have some business acumen after all?

  14. Hope Sissoko doesn’t have 1 of those minimum bid release clauses.. or if he does it’s at least for something over £20 million.

Been a while since we had good goal threat from midfield but Cabaye and Sissoko are capable of getting goals and I think some of our wide players are too (we know Ben Arfa is).

  15. Worky
In regard to shirts, not exactly sure what you ment by undercutting (selling at a lower cost?)
I know there’s an official store, near the monument, that sells only official club products.
I’m also aware football gear can be purchased on line.
Can in fact Sports Direct, either sell a piece of merchandise of inferior quality, for less than the official club merchandise
Or sell through Sports Direct, the same club merchandise as the official NUFC store, at a cut price.
Is this allowed under the law.
Or has Ashley just cut the price of Shirts at the club shop, being he is NUFC.
Is there not some conflict of interest involved ?
Same as, his continuation of using St. James’ Park to advertise Sports Direct, without paying the club for the privelage. (as far as we know)
Sounds like a lot of manipulation going on.

  16. As for him having business acumen, then he moves at a snails pace, cause i’ve seen or heard of no use of NUFC that makes me think so.
Especially compared to other clubs and i specifically mentioned Glasgow Celtic, who along with clubs like Man. U. Arsenal, liverpool etc.
who certainly know how to exploit their markets, by comparison.
Outside the UK everyone knows these sides, NUFC usually brings a questionable look and a scratch of the head.
    Thats what ahm talkin bout!

  17. And just how good is, “as good as they can be” ?
You can never convince me with an answer so vague.

Worky, thanks. We were forgetting what “highlights” were. HWTL!

No kidding Paul. It’s been dire. I don’t know how Worky can manage to post some of them.

  19. Only 5 points behind Liverpool in 7th now and that’s far from unassailable.

Tottenham in 6th are 12 ahead and even being optimistic that’s probably too much of a lead to overcome.

Good to be back above Sunderland.

  20. Love how all these experts think that Colo should have been sent off, rafa can shut his fat mouth and sit down, ramieres shouldnt have even been on the pitch, nor terry, both were guilty of studs up challenges, the type Colo and tiote got sent off for.shame about dembas big nose….

  21. Did you see when Rafa had his notepad out? It looked like he was taking people’s orders for the kitchen!

  22. Hmmm thought something was fishy when we suddenly moved upto 12th and above sunderland from being 7 points behind before our last 2 wins..

Seems skysports (live table on website) and BBC (text and website) have the wrong league table… I guess 1 copied the other.

Has us on 30 points on both those sites.

  23. I noticed that earlier. It seems like two people have updated the same league. The espn goals app has the correct league.

  24. chelsea bleeting about Ba this morning,it was different when they should have been down to ten men and saylor ruptured his achillies chasing the game, and hes not the first ex toon striker to have his nose put out of joint at sjp I think carroll hurt even more than Ba.

Chuck, Ashley sells NUFC replica shirts, the same ones sold in the club store, cheaper at Sports Direct. He has also Sports Directified the club’s online merchandising and the club’s online retailing site has been redone much like the Sports Direct site for some time now, but the finances are quite opaque. The club store is also full of cheap, tacky, tasteless Sports Direct style shit now.

Sports Direct is running Rangers’ merchandising operation completely now and that is clear, however the arrangements with Newcastle United’s merchandising seem to be far more vague.
