  1. Mike ashleys sports direct cannot pay to sponsor Newcastle united, because he owns both companies it then becomes a conflict of interests, one of the reasons he had to sell his shares in adidas when he bought us.

  2. Worky: if you cancel the blog, what are you going to do at 4am since you never sleep?

“Worky: if you cancel the blog, what are you going to do at 4am since you never sleep?”

He cant answer that GS cos he’s off saving the whale right now :)

  4. gs worky wont be as lost as andymac will whos he going to suck up to @4 in the morning he will be lost but he will probs offer to run the blog cause he has no friends in real life.

  5. BIG DAVE says

Good bye you old cripple you shall not be missed .

Is workyticket a cripple big dave? haha hope he dies a slow painful death! :-)

  6. They are showing a repeat of Twente against Benfica now in the US and Douglas has looked all over the place and De Jong has done nowt, no more pace than Carroll.

    Just one game though :)

  7. That’s why I don’t even read that website anymore. I don’t like the word banter, but what some think is banter is just trading childish insults. In real life and on blogs, deep down they are the same.

I would have thought they would have moved on by now.

“Whats up with all these comments?”

We get them all the time, maze, all from the same few people from a certain other blog who were banned from this one for making comments like the ones above, along with insulting and threatening e.mails. The blogmaster like to encourage them too because he thinks it’s good for his site, and even joined in himself in the early days. I just thought I’d leave some of them up there this time as I just don’t care about this site anymore.

When you block the IPs, they use different ones so we have to spend hours blocking groups of IPs, then normal users can’t leave comments if they’re assigned to the same group of floating IPs at a later date and so on. They’ve pretended to be me on other blogs making confessions about being a thief and going with ladyboys (I’m stumped by that one) and publishing links to photos of someone who they thought was me. They also use lots of different nicknames or “sockpuppets” to make it look like there are more of them than there really are.

As they say though, it’s all just witty “banter.” :-)

“An Andy Carroll poker game is being played:”

Where’s the evidence for that, GS? It’s just looked like the wandering thoughts of some inadequate hack with no substantiation whatsoever, but poorly dressed up as fact.

  10. GS
He’s a guy who’s career as a player was interupted, not that he was that good, anyhow he began a career coaching, he was at Chelsea under Morinho as a coach, as was Steve Clarke (both nominated for the L’Pool job) and both PL managers.
It appears they are both knowledgable students of the game, with your man Rodgers it’s about a possession game, a quick passing game, similar to that played by both hwe Spanish national team and others.
Not Ticitaca, but a modern version of the game, played differently, Barca and Arsenal play similar but distinctly differen versions, as did Swansea last season.
It requires very good technique and not all teams have the players with those skills.
It also is a more complicated exercise, that requires stamina and movement, not easy to adapt to, but as we see with Spain, it can prove to be effective.
Not much chance of seeing it played at St james’ unless by the away side.

  11. No evidence, just my thoughts and opinions. Just like I think Ashley is now being true to his lowball traders instincts and not hiring so-called football men to do his business. He’s got Pardew on a short leash and lucked into a good scout. Smart man Mike!

I think Fenway are giving Rodgers too much slack. I don’t have any evidence there either.

I wanted to change the subject from them f@ckers as well :) and get them off the 5 comments on the right hand side.

  12. S’up Workey, gonna hang it up ?
It’s a lotta work i realise, well dont know when but wish you all the best, appreciate all the long hours and effort you have put in, hope you got some satisfaction from it.
    Hasta luego companero !

  13. Chuck @25: it is still a gamble in my opinion. You know he took over Swansea with the system already in place. Your Buddy Martinez put it in.

He did a great job managing former championship players to mid-table Premiership.

Can he handle the pressure at Liverpool though? Probably still the second biggest club in England and top 10 in the world.

  14. Chuck: managing is not all coaching, passion and ideas. It is sometimes about pressure. We saw that with Keegan.

  15. My word some of those comments above are pure vile.

Worky please don’t associate them with anything to do with me. I’ve actually been at work since early afternoon and have not pong got in.

Anyway, hopefully you change your mind on the whole packing it in thing. I know its tough and I know exactly where you’re coming from but at the end of the day people enjoy this place, like others enjoy mine or Ed’s or any number of places. It would be a shame to ditch that.

Whatever has gome on in the past is in the past as far as im concerned. Yeah we’ve had our differences but it wasn’t always like that and I’d be sad to see this place go after writing over 700 articles for it.

    Just chill :-)

  17. It will be very sad if this blog shuts down, ive read this blog nearly every day for the last year, its my only salvation from the drudgery of daily life and the moaning of the missus lol. However, whatever you decide let me say thankyou for the hours you put in and the great work its a terrific site and the first place i come for all the latest Toon news. Good luck with whatever you do next :D HWTL

  18. Do NUFC actually have professional people to set up their pre-season? If so, how do they f@ck it up so much and why are they still employed?

Last year, Florida in July??? South Africa this year, or not?

Close to Munich today!!! One of the best cities in the world. A perfect July piss-up for Geordies and nobody knew about it.

Is the fact that the Olympics are at St. James’ stopping us from having an away friendly at Leeds or Sheffield? Maybe it is, I don’t know.

  19. GS – I think a lot of it is to do with getting ready for playing continental teams and styles of football. Besides, we’re playing Cardiff later on in pre-season. Was a decent day out when I went in the fizzy.

  20. Besides, in hindsight was the US tour such a bad thing?

The idea has commercial benefits but its the heat training for the fitness that we were after. And we had some of the hardest working, longest running players in the league on our side last season.

    Coincidence? Maybe… Maybe not

  21. The US logistics were just stupid. Maybe they played who accepted them to play though.

  22. Toonsy: I read your articles. I am sure you don’t care, but some of your banter boys get on my tits so I don’t read the posts.

  23. @34 really? I might agree if it was altitude training, but cutting back practices because it was too hot and humid wouldn’t help that much in my opinion.

We were good last year, but it had nothing to do with pre-season. Our best players didn’t even play there.

  24. Wots your blog called Toonsy?also can i download an app for it like i did for this?
As soon as one arse hole appears on here the biggest loser ov them all always chips in after(chas)…hopefully one day or even better in my opinion one dark night i will bump in to chas,or should i say he will bump into a right uppercut ov mine!!!…bet your poor fatha wished he had ov had a wank the night you were concieved.horrible little childish mug that you are chas.do the world a favor n go play chicken on the A19.

  25. Whoever was behind the posts above by “Big Dave” and “ChasNUFC” – I cannot believe anyone could or would want to write stuff like that. Absolutely disgraceful. God knows what goes on in your crazy mixed-up heads. You should be totally ashamed.

  26. GS – Your opinion of course, bit I remember some of yours (bus driver remember) was pretty lame also

  27. Well you can’t jack it in now Worky, just to piss off Big Dave (or Oscar Wilde, as we call him!) you’ll have to keep going. I’ve enjoyed the blog in my short time as reader (I haven’t just learnt!) Have rethink! If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

  28. Worky just to make it clear there is no love lost between us and I think the feeling is probably mutual, as you know how I feel.
But I would like to make it clear that there is a line that I wouldn’t cross and the above comments from a ” BIG DAVE ” have crossed the line, but im sure you already know that the comments weren’t made by me.

  29. Sound a bit stressed Workey !
Perhaps a coupla weeks of rest and sunshine somewhere where you can empty your mind for a while, the peace and quiet of it all may result in you being so bored, you cant wait to get back into action.
    But your call pardner!
Like i previously mentioned if you decide to discontinue the blog, it will be seriously missed by many (apart from Big Dave and his lot) actually he possibly will miss it too, as he obviously reads it still.
And thank you again for the long hours and patience, i do hope you got some satisfaction and pleasure from your efforts, cause i and others certainly did.
    Salud companero !

  30. I enjoy reading this blog every day.
Worky please do not quit due to these inadequate people leaving vile messages.

  31. @42, I got annoyed for about an hour a year ago and haven’t been back. Says everything, doesn’t it :)

  32. So, this Twente against Benfica game I watched yesterday. Douglas looked like Jean Alain Boumsong on ice. But Twente were so bad that this was probably not a fair representation.

I would welcome Carroll’s return. I think he is a really good player and anybody who intimidates Brave John Terry is OK in my book.

Toontoon are you witters in disguise ? Because he was a no hope, inadequate excuse for a human being so I just assumed you and he are one ?????

Unfortunately I couldnt post that yesterday as I was late for the pub and had to meet some friends who I dont have

  34. As for offering to run this blog, the main reason for helping out would be to keep alive a blog that isnt full of kiss ass, halfwit sycophants (check out the dictionary toontoon and chas and dave) who populate the other blogs and who have IQ’s slightly larger than the average slug.

Although that’s being unkind to slugs in Big Dave’s case

Can’t say I’ve noticed to be fair :)

  36. GS says:

“@52, do you have nothing better to do?”

Sadly the answer is No, GS !

  37. Andymac: I have always wondered if The Chronicle writers are forced to write the blah they do? Every article is the same, except they exchange a few names. Worky and you lot write original stuff with content and opinions. Why can’t they? It must be either Gibson’s or corporate influence?

  38. You’re not allowed to mention the Torygraph on this blog otherwise you’ll get a visit from the bead wearing, petuli smelling, Om Mantra Chanting, Loony left blooging guru – unless he’s out shopping at Waitrose

  39. I say @43 “mostly spelling mistakes and bad grammar!”

Have to say trying to write an entry on the bus is hard!!

Anyway, Worky I appreciate your hard work over the last year I have been reading! I would like you to keep up the very good work.

Hope you keep doing the blog,

  40. Apologies but none of the comments made in recent posts can be attributed to me…whilst I’ve said many things to Worky that were bang out of order (& i sincerely regret) I stand by everything I’ve said about you AndyMac. Toon supporter my arse…

  41. There’s not much of a thread to take over, what with them w2nks and all.

I was thrown against a wall and had a machine gun in my ribs in Leicester Square 10 years ago. By the British Army! They said I looked like someone who pulled out a gun in a nearby bar.

I fear for what will happen in London in the coming weeks.

  42. Worky: judging by all this you would have about 200 new facebook friends from Toonsy’s blog alone :)

  43. Witters says:

“Apologies but none of the comments made in recent posts can be attributed to me…whilst I’ve said many things to Worky that were bang out of order (& i sincerely regret) I stand by everything I’ve said about you AndyMac. Toon supporter my arse…”

Well done witters you’re still a sad human being but congrats for apologising to WT :)

  44. Be a shame to see the blog go Worky-I don’t post as much as I used to (probably a good thing) but would miss it all the same.
    When is it going offline?

    All the best anyway SJT.

  45. GS says:

“I was thrown against a wall and had a machine gun in my ribs in Leicester Square 10 years ago. By the British Army! They said I looked like someone who pulled out a gun in a nearby bar”

You’re not a brazilian electrician by any chance ? Cmon tell Uncle Andy all about it?

  46. And you’re still the blog bully AndyMac…always have been, always will be. I’d rather make an error of judgement, admit it & yes, Worky can take my last post as an apology as I’m not proud of some of things I said to him.

You name call other users from the other site in exactly the same way I have here so I guess makes that makes us two sad individuals… The difference, im man enough to apologise (albeit belatedly).

  47. They thought I was an IRA terrorist. I was just standing there with my wife, waiting for friends to come out of a play. I was surrounded by about 20 army guys.

I left Leicester Square and got drunk at the Hotel Bar.

  48. Witters says:

Sadly your fellow bloggers saw fit to exclude me from the “OTHER SITE” almost as soon as I’d made a comment on Fatman’s policy and its ability to mislead”.

Clearly you are still able to post your thoughts and feelings here.

  49. GS says:

“They thought I was an IRA terrorist. I was just standing there with my wife, waiting for friends to come out of a play. I was surrounded by about 20 army guys. I left Leicester Square and got drunk at the Hotel Bar”

Soory GS but was that IT ??? Did they offer some sort of apology/recompense for your inconvenience ?

  50. Witters, I don’t know who the f@ck you are, but you have no interest in this site and you can apologise to worky via his contact section if you want.

So my guess is that you are just trying to wind up AndyMac.

    What is your f#cking point?

  51. GS says:

“Witters, I don’t know who the f@ck you are, but you have no interest in this site and you can apologise to worky via his contact section if you want. So my guess is that you are just trying to wind up AndyMac”

Hey GS thanks for that but I can fight my own battles. Witters had been banned from this site for reasons only WT knows but I suspect it was something to do with “And you’re still the blog bully AndyMac…always have been, always will”

  52. AndyMac @71: They gave me a card with a number to call, but I didn’t want to get into it any more than I had and get a visit from MI5.

  53. AndyMac @73: I have no doubt. I’m not trying to fight any battles, I just got a bit annoyed.

Fair enough, Dave, though constantly accusing me of being a thief and other things isn’t very nice either. ;-)

For your information the person pretending to be you was your good mate, Duncan Murray aka “batty,” posting from his BT Centralplus connection in Staffordshire. I am very familiar with his IP cluster as he has sent literally hundreds of abusive comments under a host of different nicknames, including your own. He used to do the same thing contantly on .com too, impersonating other site users and also creating “sock puppets” (one user using many different usernames) to troll other site users he didn’t like, trying to make it look like there was a whole gang of people who hated them and were trying to intimidate them, which eventually forced that site to go over to a registered users only policy for comments. He’s a 40 odd year old man who’s obviously has a few problems. With friends like those…

  55. GS…I’d appreciate if you minded your own business.

AndyMac…ill refer you to post 49 for the reason I posted (& I haven’t been able to for months) today. Just wanted to set the record straight. If I really wanted to wind you up I’d have created a new profile to do so.

    Anyway way that’s me done…

  56. AndyMac says:

PS I’m off to the pub with my imaginary friends

  57. AndyMac @78: I shouldn’t have dressed that way that night. Where did you get my picture?

  58. Anyway, please somebody change the subject?

If we play 4-3-3, is Jonas the extra defensive midfielder we need?

We could play with Jonas and Tiote in support of wingbacks and Cabaye with the creative thrust.

That leaves Ben Arfa, Ba and Cisse free to create havock.

    Incorrect.

Just to set the record straight, you were banned by a fellow administrator for a string of insulting and disparaging remarks against other users, which is something you show a penchant for doing from time to time on here.

  60. GS – Shut up and stop whining like a knob FFS

Or just stay out of it.

See now I know it annoys you

  61. Really? Back again? How do you know I’ve even been away? ;)

End of the day mincemeat, YOU are the one who has been sat here all afternoon replying to people that annoy you judging by the time and frequency of your own comments. Isn’t that kind of defining your own stupidity? Like banging your head against a brick wall once, working out that it hurts, then doing it again “just to check”?

I have this image of you parading round your bedroom with your fingers in yours ears shouting “LALALALALALALA” which manifests itself as you constantly saying “shut up” on a blog.

How are your e-mails coming along? Have you had some practice since last time? My son is fine and well thank-you :)

  62. Oh Sh!t: I was just about to watch a Fox Sports Soccer game, but it is Spurs away. ‘Arry the Bung’s finest hour.

“Reet can all this cross blog malarkey just chill out please? Simple fact is that nee fecker is really interested in it and it just spoils it for everyone else.

Worky – If you stopped chasing people round the internet you;d have more time to wrote articles and keep the place going ;)”

Toonsy, you don’t like it on your own doorstep, but you seem to love bringing on to this ‘blog. Why is that?

So long as the same few bores are making libelous accusations about me at your place virtually every day, you absolutely love it, and as soon as they stop, you can’t seem to help making some sly dig about this site to get it started again. Yet as soon as I make one single comment to defend myself on there, I’m spoiling all the fun for everyone else? Yet as soon as anyone on here makes the slightest mention of your place on here, you’re on within minutes shouting the odds so to speak.

    Isn’t that a little hypocritical?

  64. Toonsy: you pathetic piece of shite. How can you even insinuate I said anything bad about your boy. You waste of space.

  65. Possibly Worky, bit if you read the run of comments you’ll see I’m merely replying to the goading of your patrons in much the same way you’ve just done on mine.

I’ve publicly stated it needs to stop even though you haven’t. I believe Hugh was the only one with the balls to mention it on here once, but I’ll never ignore what I see as disparaging comments about myself, my family, my job or anything like that.

  66. Bugger it then, we can leave on a sour not with nothing said about family. So, f@ck you and I hope I never have to deal with you again. Smily, wink smily and F@ck off.

  67. Temper temper Gordon Shortfuse ;)

Have to laugh though, you with your little digs all day then try to turn it round to say it’s ME leaving it on a sour note.

    Irony :)

You do make me smile GS :)

  68. Indeed Worky. It’s always busy with something going whilst this place has lots of comments from lots of different people. I mean look at this thread with all the bickering, arguing, sniping etc etc.

And you say mine is like Pennywell :)

How is the closure of this place going? I’ve heard these lines before numerous times. It will be followed by a period of no articles whilst you feel sorry for yourself and fall off the wagon again but will soon stop once you get enough attention and the site will pick up again :)

  69. Anyhoo, I shall leave you all to basuqe in some peace and quiet.

    It’s been fun :)

I can’t wait to read General Spunkmonkey’s “witty” retort the morra :)

  70. Toonsy: if I recall, you said that you wanted to close your blog a while ago because you were sick of doing it yourself. That was abot 9 months ago when I could be bothered to read it.

  71. GS says:

“Bloody hell Worky, I’m starting to understand now.”

GS, you haven’t even seen a hundredth of it. I have to deal with this shite virtually every week ’round the back of the shop.

Toonsy, I have no problems with visitors on this site, I just don’t have a handful of feral baboons posting drivel and snide insults all day. You shouldn’t confuse the two. ;-)

  72. What I don’t get is that people come on and try to wind people up and then criticise people for being wound up? :)

  73. No Batty, I have a very long memory “span”. I know you are a c@nt and you will always be a c@nt.

  74. batty says:

“lying rat worky and you know it”

No I’m not, batty, I have your IPs, your Internet Service Provider and where you’ve been posting from.

  75. GS – Correct. I’ll not deny that, but now I work better shifts and can plan I have no problems and all is well :-)

In all seriousness though I do know where Worky is coming from as it is hard work. There was a time when I felt like I was the only writing on here aswell. I just wonder why every writer that has ever graced this site, and there has been a good few, has eventually buggered off.

    Food for thought maybe.

GS – I can be sensible, really sensible, but when I get drivel posted towards me I tend to post it back tis all.

  76. “General Spunkmonkey” that’s clever that. Oscar Wilde police, we need you again.

  77. Worky, It would be a shame if you decide to end the blog. My input has been very minimal in recent months, but it’s difficult finding time to write something, especially during the summer when there is nothing really to say.

I could sit on newsnow, wait for a ‘story’ from the chronicle or similar to be published, copy and paste it, add a few lines of my own and pass it off as an ‘article’… But what’s the point? I try and write something that is an actual ‘blog’, opinions and thoughts from my own mind, I don’t want to post a story about a player who is coming to the club because I saw an article written on ‘Goal’ or ‘Caught Offside’ :-)

Stick with it, the seasons approaching, plenty of opportunity for match previews, tactics, reviews, and actual substance for everyone to get in to and have an opinion.

  78. GS – Civil I’d say, from now. Its much better like that :-)

Jimbob – I agree with you. I prefer it and I know damn well that Worky much prefers to research his own stuff, but as you say it can be a bind in off season so sometimes all it takes it just a quick rehash of something to get something published, keep things ticking along and give readers something fresh.

  79. worky your about 30 mile of target ,and you also know that that chas guy was not me not if iam botherd like

  80. Jimbob @117, I agree. I have been on here too much with this crap today.

But, Worky and his writers bring a different dimension. They bring humour to the debate.

The match links are very useful to me. I can see most games, but I can always rely on this site to find the ones that I would miss otherwise.

I hope UTD111 will write something soon. I always liked his stuff.

  81. Toonsy, that’s true, but it’s certainly a route I don’t want to go down. I think you know exactly what I’m getting at, you’ve just got to look at ‘newsnow’ and you can see it everywhere.

On the other hand it does tick things over, but a large percentage of blogs’ just recycle crap consistently and even do it throughout the season where there is more chance to vent your thoughts on what is actually happening.

Trouble is there isn’t much to get stuck into right now, but in a month or so, they’ll be plenty going on :-)

Jimbob, I was just going to say more or less the same thing before the Clampetts from Pennywell estate decided to pay another visit.

I don’t want to write stuff like that either, that’s the problem. I want to do pieces which are original and well researched (unless it’s blogs like this one of the lads in action) and as you obviously know, that takes considerably longer. I have alot of other things in my life ATM too and I don’t think I can carry it on both sides until Hugh gets back.

Seriously though, I dunno what the story is with Clint, Hugh and UTD at present, but all I can say is I will be back so long as it’s something I can get stuck into.

Dunno whether that’s a good thing for anyone or not :-)

  84. Worky, that is the problem, it takes a long time to get the research done and write something sometimes. If it was me, I would rather write one article a week that was thoughtful, than ten articles in a week that took fifteen minutes.

It’s up to you what you want to do.

  85. FFS just got back from a pleasant evening drinking only to find hell breaking loose, I wonder why ????

That AndyMac on .org is going to have a breakdown if he’s not careful. It you keep trotting out the same shyte time after time eventually you will be consumed by hatred. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was the next fecker to burst into shopping centre or summit and gan crazy”

Thats you in your sensible mode is it Toonsy :) I’ve just trawled Google to find a selection of shite that comes directly from your blog.

    “Big Dave
I thought he was a charva muppet before but now I know he is a total fuking charva muppet :???: and talks almost as much shite as worky, chuck and andymac”
I see Andymac ranting and raving again about here, someone must have done something to upset him or maybe he is just sucking up to chuck
Witters aye I just seen it there mate, he is blind to some’s abuse because they have the same belief as himsel, I can remember some of the abuse andymac used to dish out and get away with, and if im not mistaken he came on here and tried it”

    “witters
See that cunt Andymac has been slagging the blog again

Munich…re the last thread. Yep, legs slapped for bullying poor old AndyMac. Despite the fact the prick abusives anyone who has a different view to him. He’s an online bully who is unable to have a rational argument with anyone so abuses them as his defensive mechanism & he had my comments coming & I stand by them…he’s a cnut & a thick one at that. I’ll no longer be frequenting that site. Big Dave

Utd111 @123 on org You’ve taken exception to a few things I’ve said re people on .org that were a ‘giggle’….although you seem okay I struggle to understand why you waste your time with pricks like AndyMac, Chuck or Worky.

So ends freedom of speech on .cock :)

  86. …………………and while you’re at it ask your ass licking followers why they spend so much time trawling this blog when they claim to abhor it ?

  92. I always thought there was a particular Geordie sense of humour and I see it on here most of the time, so don’t cancel your Blog Worky.

  93. Howay the lads!! FFS!!! Let’s remember we’re all supposed to support NUFC and we’re all supposed to be adults, capable of having an opinion on all things football without belittling anyone! I know we don’t live in some kind of utopia or shangri la and old wounds may take a while to heal, but howay lads let’s keep it simple! There’s room for more than one blog on the internet without slagging each other off!

  94. Sad…..so sad

As Mick says, we’re all United fans.

If you don’t like this blog – stay away!

Go to whatever blog/website/forum takes your fancy ffs

Mick, I have only ever made a handful of comments on co.uk, and none of them insulting despite being libelled on a regular basis on there. Yet the same people from over there are on here all the time calling me stuff like “cripple,” and other stuff saying that they hope I get cancer, that they hope I die a slow painful death, that I am a thief, even that I am a lover of Ladyboys for some bizarre reason! You don’t see most of it because 99.9% of it goes straight into moderation. Then, when it’s blocked, they attack me for suppressing free speech and their fundamental right to expose me for what I am.

They also do the same thing with several other users on this site who’s views they don’t agree with, like Chuck and Andymac and have written some fairly vile things about them too. They have pretended to be me on other blogs making fake “confessions” about things I haven’t done and posting photos of someone they claimed was me, and Toonsy just loves to encourage it and join in.

So please don’t try and make it as if it’s two sided and we should all just get together and hold hands please. We don’t constantly go over to their blog and try to trash it, or constantly post libellous comments about one of the Admins, but we have every right to defend ourselves when they keep trying to do it over here.

  96. So:

since there has never been a single girl on this site, what should I do to chat up a girl tomorrow? I have a date.

Remember, I was married to a girl for 17 years and I got to “3rd base” a few times. Maybe more than 3rd.

As I said, there are no women on here, so I have to ask a man with experience – UNCLE CHUCK.

  97. Toonsy dont matter about your site.checked it out earlier n what a waste ov time.unlucky for me its 3minutes ov my life wasted when i could think ov better things i could ov spent that 3minutes doing.
All you n your pathetic loser pals are just coming on here sprouting utter shite, abusingpeople who visit this site n why is that????? are you doing it in the hope that Worky will get so sick ov it that he will just fk the blog off all together?then in that small childish, insecure brain ov yours do you think that if that happens your blog will get more visiters?your a mug toonsy, your blog is full ov mugs,so do us all a favor n stay on your own shite site

“since there has never been a single girl on this site, what should I do to chat up a girl tomorrow? I have a date.”

    There has, GS.

You shouldn’t “chat up” a girl, you should let them do the chatting and listen very well ;-)

  99. But getting back on topic:

    Geordieal says:
    July 16, 2012 at 8:55 pm

“Mike ashleys sports direct cannot pay to sponsor Newcastle united, because he owns both companies it then becomes a conflict of interests”

So that would make Mike Ashley allowing Sports Direct to completely take over St James’ Park for free an even bigger conflict of interest, Geordieal, and also Sports Direct undercutting the club’s own shop on NUFC replica shirts and other merchandise.

  100. And I never got the time to write this earlier, but thanks to everyone for your kind words about this site.

I wasn’t considering packing the blog in because of the comments from batty and his mate above, I’ve had that stuff to deal with from the same few people for years now. It’s because this blog was originally supposed to be a collaborative thing, but I’ve been left holding the baby for quite some time at the wrong time and I simply don’t have the time to do it the way it should be done right now due to various other things going on in my life.

I don’t want to just copy and paste mostly made up gossip from the media, and if I do, I like to take the time to check it out properly first. Apart from posts like this one, I want to do more thoughtful and well researched pieces which can’t be found elsewhere which takes considerably longer, and I just don’t have the time to do it on my own right now.

  101. Just a thought about the Carroll situation.to those fans that have said they would like to see him back at SJP,can you remember that he DIVED against us when liverpool last visited SJP?this is a local lad who supposedly loves NUFC..yet he blatenly tried to cheat against us…now,do you still want him back at NUFC?

“Do what you have to do mate. You should do some sports writing and get paid for it.”

Thanks Graeme, that means alot. I’ve had a few offers to write professionally in the past, including a book offer, but it wasn’t quite right for me at the time and I certainly don’t want to be a football hack!

GS, The Chronic and the Journal were taken over by the Trinity Mirror Group (as in the Mirror, the People etc) quite some time ago. Most local titles have been taken over by large conglomerates and have suffered as a result.

  104. Bugger, what is Chuck going to do now. I will have to send him my e-mail so he can rant at me.

Catenaccio, Rodgers, Martinez, Hatem Ben Arfa, 4-3-3. My life will be empty.

And Pardwho? That will be lost in the sands of time.

And always Clint – it is not that difficult to work out your name.

  105. Quite dissapointed to-night actually !
Many of you sounded like schoolchildren, using isults and bickering, with obviously many stoned out of their guord.
It lowered the sometime quality we have had on this and other blogs at times.
Also gave insight into the personalities involved, which for the most part did not reflect well.
Ah well is what it is.

  106. Not really Chuck: just giving Worky his respect and making a bit light of it. The others can F2ck off.

“Bugger, what is Chuck going to do now. I will have to send him my e-mail so he can rant at me.”

GS, if you were referring to the ‘blog, I don’t want to give up, and I haven’t quite yet. It’s just that I have weeks, even months of stuff waiting for me that I really need to do and it keeps getting worse. I’ve been holding the fort for Hugh for ages now and that has meant putting even more stuff off which I can’t put off for much longer, so I may just have to, and I don’t want to just bugger off without any warning.

  108. Sky Sports are reporting that NUFC have put in a bid of just over £3 million for a defender who’s supposed to be worth £7-8 million (Big Douglas). This after the some of the media had alleged that we’d already had a bid of £5 million accepted.

  109. Just saying, would hate to see this blog shut down. Has been absolutely immense for me personally. Keeps me in touch with other NUFC fans because let’s face it, there aren’t too many here in the states. It also was hugely instrumental in helping me attend last march’s game against the Arse, of which without this site and the great people on it I wouldn’t have been able to attend. As a Toon fan stranded in the U.S., don’t shut it down!!

That being said understandable if you do, lots of work. If there is anything I can do to contribute and help keep it going, let me know Worky

  110. In my (considered) opinion he is crap. Like having Shola as a centre half.

What we need is five giant centre forwards:

    Cisse
    Ba
    Andy
    Sammy
    Shola

  111. So the vets put my 15 year old dog on 6 medications. 2 heart, 1 liver, 1 thyroid, 1 urine infection, 1 anti-biotic.

If he gets better, what made him better?

He is an amazing 15 year old Jack Russell – Black and White.

  112. GS your saying you would have Carroll back.even if it meant Ba leaving or even Cisse?just say he does come, what would b your prefered foward line n why?coz i prefer the Dembas up front over Carroll n one Demba anyday.Ba has proved he can score in the prem n so has Cisse.they are consistant were as Carroll isnt.so at the end ov the day if he arrived n it was at the expence ov a Demba i for one would see that as bad buissness

  113. Five giant centre fowards????? Aye GS that will give us loads ov options wont it??NOT!!!
I think your stuck in the past mate.

  114. Are you still down about the dog, GS?

Jack’s probably right about the forwards, but I suspect you weren’t being entirely serious there? It’s hard to tell with you sometimes.

And you, Belfast toon, and thnks for the kind words too! Sorry I never got back to you before. I’ve been trying to keep up with stuff all day.

  116. Worky @166: I wasn’t serious at all about the forwards.

I have this stupid sense of humour that is probably me being a dick. I have been told that I am being a dick sometimes when I think I am being funny :)

Multiply that by 10 on a blog.

  117. Worky @166: thanks for asking again about me dog, it shows that you are kind. He’s good.

  118. So Worky @145: my new chat up line I am going to try tomorrow is:

“So, Hi Ted yes, How’s yerself”

Her name is Ted so that’s a good start.

“Would you look at the curtains?”

    “They have patterns on them”

“To be sure, to be sure.”

    Does that work?

  119. worky ive got to say your brilliant at playing the sympathy card ,you would win gold at the olympics ;) well you would if these thick fckers were the judges ;lol:

  120. What happened over night? Did Messrs Trimble and Hume turn up with some wight flags?

A football conversation broke out there at one stage!!

I thought Ban Ki Moon was a bit busy in Syria!?

  121. Looking at the team sheet, I’d say we’ve got a strong squad that only needs a new CB if nobody leaves….

    ————–Krul

    Simmo/Debucy—Colo–Saylor—Santon

    Cabaye—Tiote—Jonas

    HBA—Cisse—-BA

    2nd XI:

    ——–Harper/Elliot

    Perch—Tav—-Willo—-RyanT

    Amalfantano–Biri—Abeid–Vuckic

    Sammy—Shola

    Squad: Gosling, Ferg, Obertan, Marv.

  122. Ba on the left ov a front 3 doesnt work Milner.it starves the lad ov chances/goals.anyway think Pardew has said he’ll be playing a more central role again.thats where he is more affective IMO.

  123. carry on worky – i – like many others i suspect – read every blog there is going. i dont contribute much any more because as theres nowt happening – i’ve got nowt to say.
the fact that people treat you like shit reflects badly on them – not you. it means that they read the blog anyway
    Fuck em

  124. J72, aye, but then HBA works best in a 4-3-3, rather than playing as an out/an/out right mid/winger.

Ba may not like being stuck out wide, but it works. iF u play Ba and Cisse in striker roles, i think they’re a bit too similar and end up fighting for the same scraps. I.e. Getting in each other’s way.

Maybe thats why we’ve been looking at Carroll for partner to cisse, and when we revert to 4-3-3 – bring in one of our attacking mids (Amalf, Marv, Sammy, Vucikc)

    in other news:
Just seen Steven Nzonzi, 23, is looking to leave B’Burn…prob not for us.

  125. I suppose Lille are hoping to sign a replacement for Debuchy before they let him leave, but it seems we are more or less assured of him arriving.

As far as Douglas is concerned, a bit more complicated, apparently he (Douglas)wants to qualify for the Dutch national side, which requires a residency time period, which in turn would stretch beyond the current window.
Suppose we could sign him, loan him back for a specific time period, then have him arrive here when he has met the time requirements to qualify.

Question is would that effect his fee ? is he that good that we cant find someone (the Senegalese defender mentioned) equally good, with less baggage?

With only a couple of signings of no real significance so far, hope it does’nt turn brown, all of the brinkmanship involved.

As for Carroll, would’nt pay any more than we paid for Cisse and do we want to play the kind of football that suits his style, high balls, set pieces, elbows etc.
Hell we could also get BSA back as manager thats his speciality.

Nah! lets see if we can best utilise our current squad of good technical players, by improving our passing game and try to keep the ball on the ground.

But then what do i know ?

  126. If we are to play a 4-3-3 lineup, then either Cisse or Ba will have to be benched (perhaps we could platoon them, one for each half) because it should be apparent it did,nt work to-wards the end of last season.

Would like to see either Marveaux or Ferguson teamed up with HBA on either wings, actually Hoilett would have been ideal in that role (ah well)bringing both pace and goalscoring ability to the line, but nevermind.

Wonder about Santons future here,we seemed over eager to send him to Roma in exchange for an ex Barca and unimpressive last season wonderkind striker.
What is it about strikers with this club, same thing las summer, while we are getting nowhere with signing our real need defenders?

Then there was the article concerning Saylor, stating he may be sold due to being a sick note too often.
Hell the guy was outstanding before he got injured, he and Colocinni were a great combination, it’s mediocrity’s like Williamson and Raylor we should be calling taxi’s for.

But we are getting ever closer to the windows end (thank goodness) and expect we will see a bunch of signings before too long, hopefull from us and i expect a huge wedge of dosh to be spent throughout the EPL.

Fingers crossed, so far we hav’nt lost any of our top players, that’s a good thing.

  132. GS Have you ever been in a bar or at a party << dont tell me you took ted to a party ;)

As for football talk (!), if we get Debuchy I’m hoping to see some 3-5-2 stylee with Colo at the back between Saylor and Perch, Santon and Debuchy out wide, Jonas and Tiote holding behind Cabaye and Cisse and Ba up top. Scintillating!

  134. Batty, last time I will ever speak to you. My bad days are better than your good days.

  139. GS ya numpty you have gone back on your own word already ,and you reckon iam slow

I would delete the comments which have got through, but then it would make the other ones look rather silly!

“Lets see if we made a mistake by not signing Modibo Maiga when we were intrested in him in january window.”

Nope, I have to say that the club made the right decision (eventually) getting Cisse, and that isn’t in hindsight. It was obvious way before he joined the club that he was a top hitman and would be a better signing than Maiga. The club really did take a risk though with the lowball offer then waiting until Freiburg caved in as relegation loomed (though they avoided it in the end). I just couldn’t understand at all why no-one else was gannin’ in for him at the time.

I wish that we’d have gone all out for Vertonghen too. He’s been the best defender we’ve been linked with and worth a bit more than Tottenham payed for him (£9.5 million).

  148. Modibo Maiga – Cisse

    Clyne – Debucey (hopefully)

    better quailty in the end…

Worky might be right on Verty, but then i imagine he had a preference for spurs…water under the bridge now, lets hope he has a shocking 1st game against us!

I meant not chasing his signiture in this window Worky.if we were to play a 4 3 3 Maiga can play as the front left foward.totally agree about Verty tho,the 9.5mill was a bargin,a bargin we all probably wish NUFC could ov secured.i dont know how we are going to work this ‘big Douglas’ transfer saga.the kid wants/needs to stay in holland till next month to be eligable to play for holland.some mentioned loaning him back to twente but i cant see that happening.we need a CB now before the season starts.

  152. AndyMac: I don’t agree with those W@nks that were on here. But, say something good about NUFC. I need to hear it from you.

  153. GS says:

“AndyMac: I don’t agree with those W@nks that were on here. But, say something good about NUFC. I need to hear it from you”

IMO we’re just three players short of challenging for top four ! Debuchy could be one of them

  154. Yes it would have been nice to have Vertonghen in the side and as stated he was the outstanding CD available.
Problem is he just was’nt interested in coming to NUFC.
He was set on going to a big London side and made it known, like Jr. Hoilett and de Jong who prefered going to the Bundesliga, ah well!
Who knows we may be in for a couple of surprises, people we havent heard about could yet be signed.
I,m sure our list is long.
Cant say i’m worried about the midfield or forwards, but we have to bring in some quality accross the back four.’
Good to see Saylor back but no faith in either Raylor or Williamson and we are going to need a bit of depth for a quickly approaching heavy schedule.
By which i mean get them in yesterday, as with so many changes to the side, we need to have familiarity between the players.
Hopefully we can get off to a quick start like last season and with a bit of luck, stay with the leagues upper echelon.

  155. AndyMac: and Messi and Ronaldo are the other two :) Just kidding. I have watched NUFC for 40 years and this is a good team.

  156. Chuck: I agree that Raylor and Williamson are the weak links. I am hoping we will be surprised by how good Ferguson and Sammy are and we are therefore pretty much set in the attacking midfield.

  157. Worky: I got a little insight into your world and the internet trolling that goes on. I can see why you might get discouraged.

I put something on here that was very innocent and a bit of fun and morons throw it back in my face. It is a sad reflection on what these people do with their lives. I would hate to be their wives or kids.

Anyway, if you can stand it, keep going.

  158. Me and Uncle Chuck have had a few words, but he can say in one post what the banter boys take 100 to say. That’s why I read this blog first. And Ed’s is very good natured and can be a laugh.

  159. GS…when young Ferguson has played he has impressed n should ov had more game time.not last season, the season before when we played west brom at home last game ov the season he started on the left n had a stormer IMO.we were 3nil up n cruising,Pards then made some silly changes taking Ferguson off n bringing Smith on.the baggies came back to draw 3-3 n we slipped 3places outside a top 10 finish.even wor unwashed neighbours finished above us.that was the 1st time i seen Ferguson n i thought then he had a bright future.i was a bit gutted he never got much game time last season but when he did the kid never once looked out ov his depth.he’s everything i like about a good young’un..no fear n full ov confidence..hopefully he will get alot more minutes on the pitch this season with a long, tough busy schedule.HWTM

  160. I think Ferguson has the problem that he looks so young and fragile, but he doesn’t play like that.
