Newcastle United vs Blackburn Rovers F.A. Cup match highlights

Posted on January 8th, 2012 | 16 Comments |

Highlights of the game. Sorry, they aren’t very good I know but I thought I’d put them up just for Ben Arfa’s sublime goal, which must be the best I’ve seen all season, and also the return of “Spidermag” too. I still haven’t received any thanks from Alan Pardew for telling him he was a divvy for not playing Ben Arfa on the wing!

Sorry, no post match onterviews this time either.

UTD111’s full match report.

“Stuff the quality sir……thank you from one of many expats.”

I was just so irate that it only got 45 seconds of highlights on UK tv, for a match which contained what is possibly the goal of the season so far. It was very easy to miss the miniscule highlights between seemingly endless gambling adverts.

Paul, good to see you back on here!

  2. If Benny had done this in the Premiership against a top 4 team he’ll cost at least 20m. Lucky for us he hasn’t yet or else they’ll be all over him now in January. I expect Ben Arfa to keep improving and scoring and hopefully see him blossom here at St James’ Park and nowhere else. I am ver happy for him what a superb solo goal.

  3. There was only one camera set up behind the posh seats and it wasn’t the best. We had some good play but everyone just looked a little tired I thought. Santon is class, he’s got a real presence about him at the back and he was getting forward well too with some good runs and passes to Jonas. Ben Arfa is still finding his feet but did well, had a few little dribbles then he eventually got all the way through and powered it in for his goal. Only one team in it after that looking for the win and Jonas with a lovely dink over the keeper in the last seconds then with the mask out was a mint ending.

2 wins out of 2 in 2012 QPR next sunday at home and it looks like faurlin who’s their best player could be out for that and bartons probably banned too so another win could be on the cards looking good for 7th dare I say it

  4. Hey Worky, I’ve been in and out, and made a few comments here and there, but – and I’m sure you know this well…, these blogs sure can eat up your time! Gotta luv the Toon though.

I do manage to grab a few minutes for a career and a social life every so often Paul. :-)

There should have been at least ten to capture that goal in all it’s glory Arfa.

“You’ve got me laughing Worky! Even my wife laughed!”

What does she make of your NUFC habit Paul?

I could just copy and paste guff from newspapers and aggregators I suppose and that would take up less time, but that would be no fun and most of it would be shite, so I usually end up getting carried away like Sherlock Holmes.

  8. Thanks SO much for uploading highlights of the goals!

Im stuck out in Qatar; and although all premiership games are available the fa cup seems not to register out here.

HOWEVER lets hope that our recent success does not result in Ashley tightening the purse strings!!

Nee botha KAL. As I’ve mentioned before, I only wish there were some better ones!

My sister used to teach languages in Qatar.

  10. Those goals were brilliant. Love to see Jonas scoring with a nice chip and donning the mask. Epic.

    “Those goals were brilliant”

Tripp, I’ve been watching NUFC for decades and that Ben Arfa goal is quite possibly the best I’ve ever seen by someone in a Toon shirt. Sometimes players get lucky, but only a truly remarkable player can score a goal like that with such control.

Paul, keep up the good work with the brainwashing ;-)

  12. these demba ba stories are doing my heed in , that cockney idiot redknapp and dogleash cant manage a club correctly, harry would go mental if a boss mentioned his striker and terms of contacts, its non of his bizz. and krap kenny can keep his beedy eyes off aswell, he couldnt manage a quality team he took over at newcastle so why does he wana wreck another good side and make his poor liverpool team a bit stronger, if carrol is 35 mill demba and colo are 50 mill players.
